It's cause certain users are being ridiculous about what goes in which thread and not letting the users roam free like they used to :/ Too much enforcement and it ruined the place. Some people are calling for a change around, but the majority would need to be sided with that first. We're coming close to that tho.

No one really answered the OP's question. People are disputing over the site rules and users interaction but it really has not to do with the site's existence or why some people stay or others leave.

The answer is simple because people are bored. People look for entertainment or something that occupy themselves from their boredom. The site itself was just a copy that was seen in some fictional story. It has similar functions but the people who uses this site are different. We can't really say that this is a replica, cause the people, the threads, and the conversation people make are totally different. This site is unique. Everyone is anonymous. People don't have to make accounts or stick to one username. People can do whatever they want.

So if your not satisfied with my answer. It can't be helped cause your asking something similar as to 'Why the internet exist?'
