Got 4 days to finish a group assignment that I had 12 weeks to complete. And I can't seem to find my fucking group.

Sometimes I'll see something and think it has to do with me in a bad way, even if it has nothing to do with me. And it makes me sad. I don't understand why this happens. My mind is so negative.

I found one of my group members. Unfortunately, he's being a prick. I got my work collected and went online at the time we decided. He doesn't show up for half an hour, and then when I message him he tells me that he now wants to start at two in the morning. I immediately go under the assumption that he's an idiot and try to take charge of the situation by trying to explain to him exactly what we need to do. His response:

"I'm a second year student with a D average. I know my way around."

So he's not just an idiot. He's an idiot, and proud of it. Somehow, I've found a dude even lazier than me and he thinks a D average is something to be proud of.
And our Uni doesn't even score assignments in grades.

I'm going to ask my mom to take me to places I haven't been before or to places I haven't been to in a long time. Parking is horrible in Los Angeles though. u_u I do know, I will be going to go see the Phantom of the Opera, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm going to ask my mom to take me to the art museums, too. I might ask her to take me to San Francisco, but that's nine hours away and how long would we even stay anyway. It was good last summer when we went to San Diego, but that's only two hours away and we had each day planned out already. I think it can be done. I'd really appreciate it if my mom took me there, but if she didn't it would make no difference to me.

lol I'm just going to ask my mom to take me somewhere out of California next year. I've been trapped in this one place my whole life and so I've never experienced another state or country. If I plan ahead now, she can get vacation time next summer and I'll finally get to go somewhere awesome. =)

I honestly enjoy keeping to myself, so it's really confusing when someone drolls on and on about how sad and lonely you must be, as well as slightly... condescending. Like, it just gives off this feel of 'you must be unhappy if you're not living life the way I do' or the equivalent 'I'm happy because I'm living my life better than yours'.

I also have this friend who always talks like he's my savior whenever we hang out because of it. If I try to explain that I like being alone, he says I'm lying to make myself feel better or some shit. It's starting to get really annoying :|

I'll post this here too: If one of you guys could help me figure out what the hell it was that I was watching when I was a kid, I will offer up my police and knight status on this site. I've been trying to describe it to people for years, and absolutely no one knows what it is.

Journey to the west was an awesome cartoon. I miss shows that thought kids to have morals. Out of the box was an awesome kids show too, but thinking about it now, it's really weird.

I had to perform for my music club today and we were all supposed to bring a dress, but I'd forgotten all about it. When one of my music instructors found out, she said "Oh, I brought extra dresses." I was unsure of it at first, but I didn't want to be the only one in uniform so I took the one I liked. After we were done, I was going to ask her how long she would stay so I could give her back the dress, but before I could she asks me "Did you like the dress?" and I said "Yes." After that she was like "You can have it! Like I said, I've never worn it before. It's yours to keep!"

I was so happy. That was such a beautiful thing. People don't just DO that. Her doing that makes ME want to do something good.

Reading shounen-ai and all I can think is, "Damn. Japanese people are far too nice." Not that it's a problem. There's a few tings that Americans could learn from them, but I seriously think that there are just some situations that would be bettered handled with a bit more... what's the word? Force?

Though I couldn't say that I would live in Japan. My mother had to learn about different cultures for one of her classes and she told me about theirs. I know that they were just raised differently, but I have a problem with their views on women.

Not only that, but I prefer to be far more straight forward. They see it as aggressive, but sometimes you just really need to get the point across and not waste time, ya know?

Then again, I'm so straight forward that even my own friends see me as aggressive, but at least they accept me for that. I feel like in Japan they'd just think that I'm a bitch, and I really do just want to be nice and give out free hugs.

You know what sucks? Mosquito bites.

Like, I get bit and everyone's trying to relate and are all like, "I'm allergic too! I got bit too!" Like, no bitch. What you've got aren't even a fraction of the itching and swelling that I get when I get bit.

Not only that, but I'm the type of person that will be the only person bit in a crowd of hundreds of people in a place where no one gets bit. But then everyone tries to relate to THAT and say, "I'm that way too!"

No. No they aren't. How do I know? Because I'll go outside with them (to a park or some shit) then I'll get bit like five times and say I have to go in, and they're all like, "Why?" Then I tell them I get bit and they're all like, "That's weird, I haven't. You sure?"

So I have to show them and they're all like, "Oh... My bites never get THAT bad." Like, no shit. I already fucking TOLD you that they're worse than everyone else's. I wan'st exaggerating. That's they're fucking problem too. They think I'm exaggerating and they exaggerate.

But they don't know, and that pisses me off. That when I get bit, I get fucking panic attacks because of how bad it was growing up and how much it itches now.

Not only that, but the itching gets so bad that I punch or kick the wall because at least that pain distracts me from it.

It's not that I have low self restraint either! It's tat it fucking drives me mad because I'm so fucking allergic to it!

The sad part is that it all sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not!

A lot of Japanese people are really really anti anything but the Japanese, so they tend to only be nice to other Japanese.
Of course, this is all from knowing older Japanese people so I'm sure times are a'changing.
IMHO though, all people are pretty shitty people and 7/10 people are only nice for self serving reasons.

When I speak with strangers though, I have noticed that my way of saying "excuse me" before asking a question was improper. I think they use a different colloquial term besides what I was taught, and I also found that I shouldn't touch people. Like when I thank them, touching their arm may bother them.

I looked it up and also came across the different "excuse me"s. I didnt even know there were different phrases for "excuse me (can I ask...)" and "excuse me (can I get by)". It's just like learning the different ways you call family. Your paternal grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins, great aunt, great uncle, great grandpa, and great grandma are all different words once you switch to the maternal side. What's worse is when you start going into your paternal/maternal uncle's wife/aunt's husband. That's four different terms right there. And then it gets worse once you take age into account, because there's also elder uncle/aunt and younger elder/aunt. THEN, it gets worse because there's a formal and informal way of saying aaaaall of them.

Luckily, that one child policy makes things a shit ton easier.

The summer homework for English II requires us to make annotations in the book, so my bestie and I started freaking out because we don't like to write in our books.

People find it really weird, but I think books are more precious than people and do not deserve to be written in. If you need to write something about the book, write it on a separate piece of paper or on a sticky note. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE WRITTEN ALL OVER ON WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT?! lol if books could talk and were like "Sure, you can write all over me, it's not like pen isn't permanent" then MAYBE I'd write in them, but even then they're just so nice. I would hate to ruin a perfectly good book with highlighters and pens. I'm going the sticky note route. The teacher said that was acceptable, so as long as there is no pen to book contact I am a-ok.

So thanks a lot to last night's ending to an episode of Law & Order Special Victims Unit, I had a very bad dream about people harming a poor transsexual. And /then/ I woke up to the news of someone pushing a transgender onto the tracks. That being said, I've stated before that even with a sex change I would never use female pronouns for a man turned woman or vice versa; I still stand by that. Now if someone wanted to beat/rape/kill a transexual because of what gender they want to be right in front of me, I'd end that fucker's life.
I may never want to call you by your preferred pronoun, but that doesn't mean I'll get in your way. That doesn't mean I wont invite you out on shopping trips or feel uncomfortable in your presence. Admittedly, I felt that way at first when I was in Thailand, but that all went out the window in literally 5 minutes once we started talking about our celebrity crushes.

Now, the episode surrounded the situation of a transexual who lied to his boyfriend about being a man because they were waiting until after surgery. The boyfriend found out during the investigation and killed himself (they were deeply in love and he just couldn't take it).

I tried imagining if that had happened to me, and I found out that my boyfriend was in fact a woman. I'd be pissed about the lies and would break up with her. After that, there would be two options: if I wasn't Christian, I'd take a week to calm down then probably go back to her and see if the relationship could still work, despite my heterosexuality. Being religious, I wouldn't be with her again, but I'd apologize for storming off, but explain we could only be friends now.

There was another issue brought up in the episode: if a man turned woman transexual is placed within a male jail or prison...isn't that endangering their life?
It's sad how EVERYONE....EVERYONE knows that rape happens in correctional institutions. The guards are corrupt enough to turn their backs when they know it's about to happen because some of them are paid.
So...we either have to fix the corruption within jails and prisons, or place these transexuals in the ones for females, or better yet, hold them in transexual prisons and jailhouses (which no one wants to do because of how much money funds jails and prisons anyway).

The end of the episode resulted in the transexual being gangraped at Rykers and beaten to the near point of being unrecognizable... Isn't there something wrong with that? Was this just a badly made episode, or does this also happen real life? I remember reading an article just a few years ago of a transexual suing a jail for endangering their life by placing them with the men. I don't remember any mention of sexual assault, but does that mean that the likeliness of it is low...or were they simply just lucky?

I think she said each figurine she has cost like $15 to $30, but she has like six or seven of those. It's just, I don't know how she can do that!!! Like something, make her parents spend money on it, and then stop liking it!!! O_O

So I want to take my friends out to places during the summer, because I consider summer to be the celebration of my birthday. I was talking about with my friends and my best friend is making it all complicated. We want to go to the beach, but she doesn't like the beach, but I shouldn't be accommodating to her, right? It's my birthday. My mom's paying for this. In fact, I don't even have to take her. She's like super ungrateful for the things people do for her. I've only been once when I was four and I didn't like it. That's saying a lot for an amusement park geared towards kids. Tourists always want to go to Disneyland when they come to California, but are you seriously going to go to Anaheim for Disneyland so you can wait in line all day and get on suckish rides! There are other things to do in Anaheim besides Disneyland.

But back to what I was saying about my friend, she wants to do things with us, but then it's like it has to be stuff she likes. I think I have finally found a ship worth exploring into more. My mind is just full of Tsukumoya Shinichi/Izaya fiction. Then again there isn't a lot of fiction either. It's a rare pairing. Believe me, I just discovered it today, and I have enough ships sailed to rule the world (not really. I'm picky).

I may have found my inspiration! I just 'designed' a character, and that's where my stories come from. Based on his personality, I put him in a plot with situations that will push, and possibly break the boundaries of his character. I have a thing for MC's suffering.

btw, Inu and anyone else into programming/science/blah should look up Prey by Michael Crichton. and then every other book he's written. he's one of the sci-fi writers that researches a shit load, and by a shit load i mean he has 40 sources at the end of this book so basically all the concepts and ideas are real (besides the obvious stuff that still doesnt exist today).

i just love when writers go all out like that. like in the Stormlight Archives, Brandon Sanderson basically spent years creating this fantasy world before even writing to make sure it was perfect (and it is omfg i could gasm to how amazing and well thought out his world is).

The anime is a very good adaptation so you can definitely start with it. It didn't exactly age well in terms of animation, but the voice acting is really good when it comes to conveying humor. You can move on to the manga later on if you feel like it.

I've been waiting basically my whole life for another anime like Ghost Hunt to come out, and there's still fucking nothing. I'm seriously about to give up on it. Didn't the manga adaption do great? Why aren't there more shows like it?

Everything that tries to do the same concept fails. It's either too dramatic or too childish or too girly. They end up totally fantasy or totally psychological instead of the mixed up science fiction/horror that made Ghost Hunt so interesting :c

Yakumo takes the whole "dramatic backstory" thing to a really unnecessary extreme. HoliC, Neuro, and Stigma are totally fantasy. Ghost Stories is for children, literally. Ghost Hound has similar concepts but a completely different flow. It just doesn't seem like a difficult idea to recreate.
