I thought it would be good to have one thread where most of the discussion regarding organization, etc. goes so that newbies can read through a neatly compiled list of reasons, rather than all that really good discussion getting deleted along with the bad thread.

If mods don't check a board (and there are tons where it's evident they rarely do: Food, VNs, Sports, etc.), how would they see the "/sage" messages? This thread seems like a much more direct way to get their attention.

Besides, including "/sage" in response to dupes and other irrelevant posts has always been a wishy-washy tactic the BBS seems split about using. It doesn't do anything, and it doesn't seem to be any more or less effective than other means of letting people know their threads don't belong in the place they posted it or anywhere at all.
