finished american horror story 3. it was horrible.

I checked the Windows Minecraft version, and it works. I don't suggest updating when it asks; the current update seemed really slow.

If you want to play multiplayer, you have to use servers with offline users enabled, meaning cracked servers like these:

To launch it, just pick a name and hit play. You can change what version the launcher is (the version needs to match the server) by editing the profile at the bottom left. The first time you launch it, it'll install everything you need, so expect it to be a bit slow the first time. Apparently, in my MC worlds, I built the Labyrinth of Crete and tried creating a Minotaur at its center.

I'm really good at spiral staircases in Minecraft. I'm not talking about boring square things made of stairs, I'm talking about giant, circular cylinders with way, way too many slabs in them. Other than that, basic shapes are the only artistic thing I can do. I can sort of do redstone. Not even close to the level as SethBling, but better than an average joe.

I can't tell if an architech would be proud that I'm managing to replicate a maze that I found online on minecraft exactly, or pissed because it's not to scale or perfect. Certain paths are longer than they should be, etc.

I think I want to make something that requires red stone next. My only problem is that I'd get tired as hell of just digging. At least with the maze it requires brain power and thinking.

Name, I can't help but feel like you're looking at grading systems a little too shallowly. That there is a bone to pick.

There would only be a 'correct' grading scale if education systems allocated universally shared standards to a certain numerical value or letter of the alphabet. But fact is, and this is pretty obvious, that no such shared standard exists on a global, or even a national or state level. Different institutions at different levels of education will generally have different grading scales, and not one of them is 'correct' or 'incorrect'.

One must take into account the type of assignment, the difficulty, and the criteria among other things before they really get to judge. Grading scales are complex pieces of shit, and a lack of understanding that may become detrimental to one's learning and improvement some time in the future.

Sorry if I come off as over the top, Name, but these are issues that you constantly hear about when studying anything to do with education. :/

I have some really awesome memories of my family going out of the way to keep us blissfully ignorant, even to the point of dressing up a couple of times. It was fucking scary, but we still looked forward to it every year. But the kids in my family now just bitch about presents and cry when they don't get everything they wanted. It fucking puts a damper on Christmas these days, honestly.

I'm not blaming it on Santa, I just feel kinda bad for those kids.

I was also confused with how many other students went off about how much they relate to Holden. It reminds me of all the murderers who said they related to him and how the book was their inspiration. Stories don't have much inherent quality, I don't think. You are reading it, you are the only thing that decides its quality. It's just like people, certain people just appeal to others. This is sort of idealist, but it's sensible I think. Same can be said for music, etc. The only way you can rate quality is by people's opinions or standards. You can't make someone's opinion correct, I don't think. There is something to be said for the vast majority of opinions converging on something being good, like Game of Thrones or something else, but there will always be people that just don't see quality in it. These people being labelled 'wrong', or it being their fault they can't see the quality is something I can't stand in the least.

To be honest I kinda pity the kids who don't understand The Catcher in the Rye.
I feel like you get it more when you take time too look back at your youth with a sort of fondness, but right now your all super pissed at the world and people around you, and lack empathy, This book actually meant something during the time it was written it was the voice of the youth. Now you're fucking hopped up on the internet, memes, and anime. Pretty much getting everything you want, that it doesn't speak to you as much as it spoke to the kids back then.

To a fault it is the school system for to not bother changing, it to better speak to the youth of today, but I'm glad they didn't when I was still in school, the youth of today is spoiled as shit.

Remember is had a few addictions to the point where it got really bad and almost lost my life, I went back to school and finished my senior year with high marks, when we read this in class, it pained me just how the students around me just lacked perspective, and the point flies right past their head, maybe it's because most of them were so sheltered they didn't get to connect with as many people, so I guess it just speaks to me more.

So yeah I love that book, it makes me reminisce on my youth. Reminds me that I survived, And I love kids too, I always say that they are the only ones who are pure and innocent, they have no idea what the world has in store for them yet.

I dunno, maybe you'll get it when you're older.

What I'm trying to say is that many kids complain about the book because the generational changes, but even with that, there are some kids who can still relate to it, but from what I encountered, it isn't the norm. We've been spoiled so much by the internet, and technology, with everything that claims to be connecting us, is pushing us farther apart, to the point where human empathy for one another is slowly dying.
It definitely plays a role in the readers experience, there is a disconnect from the character who is more or less the embodiment of what we go through in our youth. If you don't yet feel what the protagonist is going through then it wont speak to you as much.
Like I said, when people get older, their mentalities of life and the world begin to change. They'll look back at their youth and reminisce, their opinion on the book may change as well.
I was a stupid kid too, I thought much like the protagonist, in some cases I still do.
For the most part, the book feels like a journey of one's self. And I've had a lot of those.
But from the many people I have talked all from different walks of life, I've learned one thing. We're all still finding ourselves. The journey never really end.
I guess, until you die, that is.

I also highly recommend this documentary on J. D. Salinger as well.

A problem I have with what you're saying is that we know almost nothing of Holden's actual problems. CitR is written with the same style I end up with when flash type writings (quickly writing what's on the top of your head without looking at the paper) in first person. It just turns into a huge rambling mess of things going off topic and being repeated in slightly different ways to force a point on the reader. The difference is that, from that mess, I pull out the best lines and then rewrite the rest of those chapters with them, meanwhile Salinger just left it as is under the guise of being written in "Holden's style".

Readers who aren't used to fictional writing or reading cheap stories like that think it's some super fancy amazing thing he did intentionally to show Holden's inner mentality from the start, but I highly doubt it, which makes it really hard for me to take it seriously.

I can make the same argument against Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Did he really mean for all of the absurdity to have an underlying sense to it, or did he just spew nonsense and some of it was funny to some people? He himself hinted he didn't really try to make a coherent book at all, but it is. That's the only thing that matters to me. Maybe he didn't, who cares? It's good (to me), so I read it and enjoy it. Why should the effort undertaken to make something affect its value?

I don't think the pizza place by me realizes just how much self control it takes for me to not order the second they open. I just spent my whole morning messing with my sucky Android phone and deleting a whole bunch of shit I honestly don't understand why it's on the phone in the first place. For those that don't know, Trans* includes the whole community. Trans just stands for transgender, transsexual, and tranvestite. Trans* covers more. That covers genderqueer, agender, and all of the other nitpicky gender things that could happen, which is a lot that I'd rather not go into.

So yes, trans* is like saying lgbt+ rather than just gay.

Partially transforming half my stories into "romance" because it sells well and is more fun to write than I expected .o.

Whenever I hear a transgender guy rant about how much he wants to wear makeup and look beautiful, or a trans girl about how she wants to play sports and hang with the guys, all I can think is, "Go right ahead!" You don't have to "live as the other gender" to embrace something that's more popular with the opposite sex.

If we lived in a society that didn't have any kind of gender roles, I doubt trans* or a separation of gender/sex would exist. You wouldn't think you needed to act as the other "gender" even if you had a hormone imbalance. Sex changes? Sure. But there'd be no distinction other than sex. We wouldn't need entire movements pushing people using non-gender-specific pronouns :\

But of course, we'll never get to that point because the trans* movement is getting so big and pushing gender roles as such an important part of life. Instead of having petitions that students should be able to wear any of the available uniforms, it's always, "Provide TRANS* students the OTHER SEX's uniform," which makes people think that anyone who doesn't fit their stereotypical gender must be trans* or the other sex. It's silly to me.

I think the science that's under fire is for the structure of the brain being difference. Pretty sure in my opinion that's not all correct, I don't think the brain is drastically difference for males than females. But, as far as thought processing goes, I thought that females have more trouble with imagining 3-dimensional shapes than males. There's also difference in ASD symptoms with males and females. These are some of the differences I know, but I thought they were pretty solid. Again, these are patterns, with outliers.

I suspect a lot of the common ones are horseshit, obviously (women can't drive, etc.), but I really think the above I mentioned are true. I had some success with my own study because pretty much no one knew about it, but trying to get people to admit they'd be okay wearing a dress if they're a man is complicated by this stigma towards it. So, it's very possible the studies surrounding are influenced by these gender mentalities.

To me, it doesn't make sense that there aren't differences, but that's an intuition I have no backing for. I don't have much at all, really. I just thought what I knew indicated something, but it may not after all. I guess I wish I knew more.

Where it does become a big issue for me, however, is when passing laws. It's something that needs to be understand both by society, and law-makers more. I could simply say I identify as female, and this would allow me access to a women's restroom. This can compromise the safety of such a place.

I dont really agree with most of those radical ideas, either. For example, the idea of not putting a sex on your birth certificate until you're "old enough to decide" is, in my opinion, retarded. For one thing, there's health regulations that go along with your sex and whether people like it or not there is a difference physically between male and female and it's important to understand/regard those differences.

On the bathroom idea, that is still a topic I really don't have an opinion on yet because there's too many factors to consider (and also because I hate separated/public bathrooms in general).

In which case, it still doesn't make sense because of evolution. Because someone on the human evolutionary tree used to be able to mate with chimps, but that can't happen anymore. We still would have evolved away from being able to reproduce with the aliens after a few thousands of years of not reproducing with them.

For everyone who reads this and lives in a cold environment, like several feet of snow kind of cold, I NEED YOUR HELP. Born & raised in Georgia I have no idea what you're supposed to where in the northeast, and all this talk of frost bite makes me nervous....

I never lived in the cold, but as a child I was from the south adn visit northern states all of the time on Christmas. I looked like a friggen marshmallow when I was done with all of the layers. Also, make sure every part of your body is covered. This means hands and heads too. Hats and gloves are also your friends.

I don't know much else, so I'll let someone that actually lives there help you out. I just figured I'd say something, because you should dress warmer than the people from these cold states. They're used to it, so if you dressed like them, you'd still be cold as fuck, even if you won't get frostbite.

Usually it'll be something like stockings or some kind of tight fitting thing under jeans or something loose fitting and warmer (like pjs or sweat pants). You could also get snow pants if you want, too, to wear outside and then just take them off whenever you get inside.

Also since I dont have any actual winter coats I even layer jackets. On really, really cold days I'll have a shirt, a long shirt over it, a lighter jacket, and then a heavier jacket on top. However since I've been living in the northeast my whole life Im more used to the cold than you are and I recommend an actual winter coat.

Basically, layer everything you should be gucci. Dont forget fuzzy socks for your toes, and also boots. If you dont have fuzzy socks just layer your socks, too. Feet and fingers I find are the easiest to get cold so be careful with them.

Meanwhile, I'm over here in like 1 degree F weather in shorts, sandles, and a T-shirt.

I think they have thermal pants, right? To wear under normal pants? I had to borrow some of those when I was in Alaska. Also, there's pants that are better for wind. It's less to prevent frostbite and more to stay warm. Because the wind is so cold! IF you don't have those, leggings or yoga pants under your normal ones are fine too. Or wear sweats as well for extra warmth. Or hell, do what Ham says about snow pants.

Also, Ham's right about the socks. Wool socks are good too. BOOTS! I can't believe I forgot boots. I had to buy some of those when I went to Alaska. It keeps your legs warm as well as your feet. :)

Scarves are nice too. To keep your neck warm. And if your face gets cold easily you can either use a scarf or they have jackets that cover your face. By face gets cold easily, and it makes my jaw hurt when it gets cold. That part really differs from person to person.

For layers, I do a tank, short sleeve, sweater, and then jacket. Though I'd add more if I went up north. That's just for the cold days where I live. It's not necessarily bad here as much as it's humid and windy.

Also, windbreaker jackets are nice if it's windy where you're going. When it gets cold here, I'll feel warm in just a jacket, but when it gets windy, I'll be freezing my ass off. Need something to protect you from that!

If worse comes to worse, the marshmallow look is best. You may look like an idiot to the natives, but you'll be warm as fuck!

I get cold easily. Like, skinny people just get cold super easily. I don't know why, but it totally sucks. ANYWAYS! I recently realized the power of the fuzzy. I have a nwe fuzzy jacket I got for Christmas, AND HOLY CRAP IT'S WARM!

Except, the book is literally on what's called the "banned book list" for many states and school systems. Some strict libraries won't even carry it or just won't check it out to people under 18 because of all the murders related to it and the controversial message. Meanwhile, there are way more deaths related to guns, yet the regulations on it aren't proportional to them.

1) Spam-bots happen. Actually, I think it's once every few months. I've seen two or three. During which times, they are dealt with effectively. I'v messaged Reltair on the thread, as I recommend you do for any similar issues. If for any reason than so he can keep his eye out. People don't care, but it does lag out the site and gets annoying. Not to mention some people think it's smart to reply to said spam threads calling the spammer an idiot.

Areas with more strict gun control also tend to have more violent crime, especially homicides. The problem isn't guns, but a lack of responsibility and respect for life. Someone linked me to Wine About It a while ago as a joke (or something? I don't remember). This short is fantastic. It does actually happen a lot.

His movement style is very free, it's a huge treat for the eyes. The bit where the guy flies around the room and keeps hitting things is also pure gold.

Then it talks about the dangers to female students. The dress code of private schools that require uniforms and its affect, about how they are often harassed by male teachers, about how schools cover up assaults by popular athletes, and closes up with a comment about how good grades won't save you from those people.

Finally, it closes up with a note about the submissive behavior that schools enforce and how negative of an impact it can have in real life when you are in actual danger but were never taught how to take care of yourself because the most important lessons are never in the books.

Don't watch anything on Polly Streaming. I've already gotten a few bugs and haven't even finished the episode :\ this is why I hate ads.

>>664 Duh, of course YouTube ads don't show up. That's how adblock works. But this site periodically embeds links into the player so when you go to pause and play the video it sends you to ad sites. You can't add sites to the blocked sites list - you report specific ads that aren't removed and it blocks them in the next update. However, I can't click on the ad to block them with the reporting tool because it's invisible in the video q-q (Also, this is just a fabulous time for my enter key to stop working. ugh.)

A test of sorts? Maybe this is only on Main.
