Deep Discussion (13)

Right, now this would either go here, Personal or Literature.
If this is the wrong board my apologies.

Its simple, you want to put out an idea? a long piece of text explaining not only an idea or a personal view, but your own form of rant almost like to get something of your chest. It can vary between these things but the theme is the same, Deep discussion you need to create something that will invoke thought or emotion, If you guys don't like this idea that's fine.

To start,

I have been wondering lately, every single day my life is the same thing, sure different events happen but at the end of the day. It is just the same thing, the same situation. My life is bad, or hard. I just cannot seem to appreciate it the way I know I should. Life is a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, but why doesn't it feel different? I long for the days when something interesting will happen and it wakes me up and snaps me of this repetitive dreamlike state.

Don't think I am pleading for advice or change. I know that there is not much to life and I know that after time my life should develop into something more beautiful, something to make me want to wake up in the morning. A life where I am not happy, or sad, but content.

I find it hard to view this world as something beautiful, our entire life since birth we are told that there is more good in the world then bad, but I've grown to learn those are just words we are fed to help us continue our ignorance. Mabye some time ago the good was more prominent, or maybe the bad was just better at hiding. Today the bad doesn't need to hide, instead it is thrown in our faces. The internet, TV, Billboards and in the paper everywhere you look you see conflict, but why? If they want us to believe there is more good then bad why do they pump the bad into our minds relentlessly? Because they have learnt that to help us continue our ignorance, we must be numbed to that we are being told to ignore. We hear the bad so much, it no longer phases us.

I am 17, and I am not rich, I am not poor. My life is average, I am an average person living in a world where the good is drowned in bad, where we are told to believe that if we go to school and get an education we will get the job we want and we will be happy. Yet in this same world we are told that money doesn't buy happiness? If that is the case why do we have to push ourselves to the point of breaking to get a job and earn money? The world is filled with mass amounts of hypocrisy.

Life in not fair, that is known by anyone with a brain in their head. I wont complain, It could be worse right? Though, I find myself thinking, If I feel like this, and I have nothing to complain about, I can only imagine what those who are less fortunate are feeling.

There are over 7 Billion people in this world. Each of us so insignificant none could fathom, my mind reels in the thought about just how little I am. There are over 7 Billion people in this world. We each believe we have the ability to become something? We all believe we should get up in the morning, go to school, then university, then we get a job. We serve that job the rest of our life to reach what goal? The one all of us eventually reach, Death.

There are over 7 Billion people in this world, yet we all believe we matter.

Thank you for reading if you did, feel free to tell me your thoughts on what I have said, I would like to hear them, I would also like to hear something you would like to say or discuss.

>>1 I'm glad someone created this. Finally we got a philosophy/debate thread, all in one.
I wonder if random was the best place, but whatever, I'm just glad it's here. Now "Random Thought" will be filled with more random thoughts.

Been waiting for a thread like this.

>>1 About your thoughts:
It's true that not all of us necessarily need money to be happy. But we need it to live. Getting a job isn't always about earning money, but being able to do what you think you'll be the most happy with. The best way to live is to do what you like.

It's true that life is unfair, they say that you could be whatever you want but that doesn't mean you can. It's not guaranteed that you will always succeed no matter how hard you try. But I think what matters most is that you tried. Some say the very purpose we live is to be happy, but I think not, we live to experience all the emotions we could, not just happiness, so I think it's okay to feel anger, sorrow, or boredom once in a while. At least that's what I think.

That's why I adore this world. There's much in life that I have yet to feel and experience. I live to see the most of it, that's my goal. Death is just there to live life more to the fullest.

Hm. Hope I did my trip right because now---
gah. Struggling to maintain a sense of decency for a more than decent thread. HYUUGGHHHHH.

Okay.

Hey guys, it's like our very own online Socrates Cafe. I've always wanted one of these.

Originally, Kazu, I never really thought that life could be so bl--- actually yes I have. Aha. That hurts. Life in a first world country seems to revolve around the most trivial of things. I'm not so sure I agree completely with you or not, I'm still having some internal deliberation at the moment, but I can see where you're coming from.

For one, I agree we're all going to die. We work so hard to get to one place just to get money to spend and hope to suffice for our (non)expensive hobbies and joys, and then we die. The rich die. The poor die. The intelligent and the mentally challenged. We're all going to die. However, what has changed my personal view on this was a quote I found a while or so back, and it went something along the lines of, " It's about the journey, not the destination."

Yes, life is cut out for us, but just as stated above, life revolves around the trivial things. Trivial things like meeting a future spouse, or trivial things like doing fun activities with your family or friends, etc. etc.

We all end up the same way: dead. But we can all live differently. Hence the murderer and say my muther. Two completely different people, living completely differently, good and bad, and yet they will both die and be reduced to nothing but dust.

It is about the journey, not the destination. I believe we have the choice to make that journey enjoyable or not. Whether or not we have a choice on what our journey will be and what we will do in that journey, I don't know. That's if you believe in 'fate' and 'a Higher Power to construct and plan out your life'. In which case, I do believe there is a God and a Higher Power (the same obviously), but we have the choice to either enjoy or hate our circumstances.

Going along my lovely religious bias, there are 7 billion people in the world. More than ever before, can you believe that? It's amazing. Amazing the world is still able to provide for seven billion PEOPLE. People. People are...us. We are people. What makes us different than the average ant and totoro? Something must.

We have a form of communication with each other, our brains are more developed, the fact that we have been able to actually CREATE OUR OWN ENVIRONMENT is something worth noting. I mean look around you, if you're in a building sitting on a chair or lying on a bed, that's all stuff we as people have made. Maybe that's what makes us special?

We're not all insignificant, and I think that perhaps we've all been brought up with the belief that we are all significant and can change the world because all those people who actually did, were never encouraged to believe they could make a difference.

Everyone wants fame, and accessibility. It's just a bit of...oh, it's hard to describe. Maybe this is a a bit of a far cry? I'll drop it here.

I just thought that people believed they were special, because they were brought up to believe it. Why do we want to believe we're special? Well, who wants to conform to society? I was at my guitar lesson last Tuesday, and my teacher thought little of me because I dressed (so called in societal terms) "too pretty" for school (really, it was a floral skirt, white tank top, and denim jacket with moccasins, but I guess I looked preppy), and then sneered at me and said, " When I was you're age, I dressed to stand out, not to fit in."

Sometimes I really want to punch people, but then I don't.

Anyways, I guess you could say I had a bit of a mental conversation in which I told her how I do stand out, and that I don't care what other people think of me. I'm, in my own way, standing out. Just because I don't cut my hair weird (anymore teehee) and dye it, and wear strange clothing that makes people do double takes. Just because I'm not that, doesn't mean I'm not standing out. I'm standing out while giving the impression that I'm a mature, intelligent, and actually do care about first impressions. I'm not another 'trashy' girl or 'conforming to society' girl. I can stand out by my actions and my beliefs. I also don't like those really short jean shorts, what are they daisy dukes or something like that, and side-boob showing tank tops, so yeah. I'm conservative in the ways that I believe are right. Plus, there's always some sort of internal enjoyment when someone who sees you as a decent girl finally understands that you're not as shallow in the brain as you might look.

Well, physically I just dismissed her with a chuckle and went on, but even then it was still peeving me. Also the fact of my said 'religiosity', I believe we all have a soul and a certain path we all take that is different. We all grow differently, our circumstances shape us, too. And, if you can't tell, I'm trying to keep "religion" out as much as possible (hence the tangents), because it just doesn't seem right in a philosophy area. Anyhoo, we are all special. We're all independent of each other, yet we're able to live compatibly with each other. That is why we're significant.

Here's some interesting quotes that are also somewhat relevant and feel free to demolish them in our decadent discussion:
" In all things, it is better to hope than to despair."
" Some people are so poor, all they have is money."
" I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth, then I ask myself the same question." -Harun Yahya
" Happiness is a state of mind."
" We can't choose where we come from, but we can choose where we go from there."
" Don't just be another brick in the wall."

I got a question. When will a new topic be made, or can anyone just use this thread to jot down their philosophy.

11 Name: Kaori !pDMHhmWR9c : 2013-05-25 18:42 ID:1gCFgqk8 [Del]

>>10 I would suppose anytime would be a new topic time? We could always revive old topics. I mean, one end of philosophy has to meet another at some point, right?

Whoa Kaori. A very interesting view, what you said has made sense but can you say everyone is significant? I mean people subdue their lives to bend to the way people want them too? Like I mean people will dress talk and act how other want them too, but really that isent the minority the masses all follow the same trends and way of life, Like now being 'Unique' Is a trend, people will say "Oh im just unique" or "im just weird" but in reality they aren't because they are just entering a different trend? and Magnolia whenever you want aha when someone posts an Idea or their views about something we can run with it from there, so if you have one aha feel free to share XD
