Go on, take the lollipop.

And post your reactions or thoughts here. Just a side note, you will need Facebook Connect for this to work properly. And once you start, I promise you there are no jumpscares haha

This is somewhat a PSA, but I don't really want to spoil anything so just take the lollipop and enjoy the rest. I thought it was well thought out and definitely very clever.

Now go on, enjoy and take the message into careful consideration when you're done. :)

At first I thought "There is no way this guy is telling the truth, a scary face must pop out sometime now"
After watching it, I can say I'm a little freaked out at how someone can actually do all of that. How much damn editing and coding did that have to take!

3 Name: Elunore!HIwambGeWE : 2012-11-25 15:48 ID:LjIyg3lI [Del]

The entire concept sounds stupid.

4 Name: Sleepology !4a6Vun8zuw : 2012-11-25 16:07 ID:cDf8/Ul5 [Del]

>>3 you have to go through facebook to use it, of course its stupid.

6 Name: siximpossiblethings : 2012-11-25 16:09 ID:nZyxyCSF [Del]

First time I did it I got so scared. I literally thought some guy was going to show up at my house.

7 Name: Elunore!HIwambGeWE : 2012-11-25 17:00 ID:LjIyg3lI [Del]

>>5 No, I don't use my Facebook anymore. I forgot my pass. But there is a thing called google that I can look stuff up on.

8 Name: Anonymous : 2012-11-25 17:32 ID:tJYci9yx [Del]

>>7 Well experiencing it and reading about it on the internet are two separate matters, that's for sure.

9 Name: Elunore!HIwambGeWE : 2012-11-25 17:45 ID:LjIyg3lI [Del]

>>8 Watching other people doing it is similar enough to get the idea.

IMO it's not that different from websites attaching cookies to give ads "relevant" to your intrests, they track what you go on and give ads to match. I go on barnes and nobles websites I'll get ads for other volumes of manga that I just bought or the rest of the series. Same with target and walmart.

The only way to be totally safe and invisible on the internet is to not go on the internet.

I got like, one second into the video, before getting scared to death and looking up what happened on wiki.

Yeah, its great that my lights aren't working.

11 Name: Anonymous : 2012-11-25 19:51 ID:tJYci9yx [Del]

I'm really paranoid about stuff like this..especially when it's realistic.
And I'm a female, thank you very much.

15 Name: zolraK : 2012-11-27 22:56 ID:Rs/lZZl+ [Del]

I didn't really have much of a reaction but my sister's face turned pale when I watched her try it.

The folder of pictures he was getting worked up about was my...

Gay folder. :P It was funny watching him stroke the screen to two yaoi boys kissing. lawl.

29 Name: Kay : 2012-11-28 12:41 ID:QGl62/1A [Del]

He would be stroking a blank screen if I played the video... Also, his car's dash would have a picture of someone with a badly photoshopped mustache, top hat, and monocle, and he'd be heading for a blank Google Map. Good luck finding me.

Then, after he gave up, he'd only have five other people to choose from.

Looks like I ruined his day.

Creepy. Then kind of funny. If you make your account private so only friends can see it, then you only friend people you legit know, you won't have this problem.

Unless it was some hacker. In all honesty, you shouldn't piss off a hacker. Also, unless you were someone important it wouldn't really be worth hacking you to go stalk you. All-in-all, this is completely irrelevant if you don't even put your real information on facebook.

Now, no one needs to go through facebook to stalk you. Chances are, just googling a name would provide results. There are also countless sites, of which I know a few, that would give you information such as email, address, and family for free. It'll give you more information if you create an account. Which is how Anonymous destroys many people's lives. They don't like a person, they find their basic info such as name, address, and family online and post it for the world to see, giving a reason for this stupidity, so that their life would be hell.

I'd also like to point out the fact that any place where you give your information, any information such as email, credit info, ect, is not safe. Give your credit info to Sony to buy games? Guess what? They were hacked by Anonymous and many of their clients' info was posted online. The same thing could happen with any company. This includes Apple, PayPal, Ebay, Amazon, ect.

Even if you don't use the internet, your information is on there. The best way to hide most of your information is to just not give it, such as email and credit info, but you might as well be a completely invisible person with no information at all if you want to avoid this completely. Which means, fake identity.

All-in-all, this could happen regardless.

All the info he was looking at was over six months old. And my IP said I was in Kansas last, so he went to the completely wrong state. It was hilarious the entire time.

Second time through, same thing. But I noticed my picture had a 1/2 second head start on the dashboard showing up.

>>32 ffs leigha

Think a little bit.

When you used Facebook connect, the website was able to extract all of that information, whether your account was private or not. Now it may not be much if you post fake info and pictures (which pretty much defeats the purpose of having a Facebook), but it's still pretty cool.

Besides, everything in that post was common sense so just enjoy the feature and don't think too much about it :I

>>33 And you

stop being a douche
