My turn!~ When leaves die in winter, the reason they change color is because the chloroplasts (the organelle that gives leaves their green color) have died off.

Necro bump woo!

Once regarded as the tallest wooden structure in Russia, Nikolai Sutyagin modified his 2-story house and added 11 more floors upwards all by himself. (Source for an in-depth explanation is linked down below)

After a few years of adding a few floors and consider calling it quits, he thought he'd have the view of the sea if he expanded it a bit higher so he kept going.

The building was deemed as a fire hazard and the upper part was demolished in 2008-2009, what remains of its 2-floor house was subsequently burnt to the ground in 2012.

Triple Axis Tourbillon is regarded as one of, if not, the most magnificent piece of engineering when it comes to keeping track of time. Also deemed as the pinnacle of watchmaking history, you can only find a watch equipped with this particular machinery in the market starting from 6 digits price tag, in USD.

However, The Tourbillon Mechanica Tri-Axial project brought to you by Mechanistic aims to let users experience how the system works and constructing it themselves under the guide of its 120+ page assembly instruction. From 3D printing the all the parts to assembling them out, all is listed in the manual, available for all the backers.

The mechanical sculpture is made to look as symmetrical and with the frame being skeletonized as much as possible in an attempt to show & highlight most of its working components. The way its tri-axial Tourbillon is put in the middle, spinning in a consistent rhythm and minding its own business. The hour/minute indicator at symetrically put at the sides and equipped with retrograde mechanism that retracts back to the beginning once they reached the top, everything in this thing is just *mastapiece.

"The Corkscrew": The world's biggest and most complicated mechanical art corkscrew

It took 4 years to construct by artist Rob Higgs, who combined nearly 400 pieces of scrap metal ranging from drills to clock springs to cannonballs to form the half-ton contraption, which he then cast in bronze.

Thanks to its special hydraulic system, which is powered by a hand crank, the machine can uncork a wine bottle and pour a glass in one slow but fluid movement.

>>5 That looks like some universe-controlling mechanism thing at the end of some anime's end arc. Watching it run is badass, too bad I can't slap anything close on my wrist without bankrupting 2 generations of my family.

>>7 That looks badass. The glass wiggling at the end of the video there kinda spooked me for a sec. XD

According to the laws of physics, green stars can't exist. It is then theoretically possible to create a semi transparent dyson sphere that'll make a star appearing green, turning it into a beacon of life and civilization for the aliens out there looking out into the sky.
