your weird obsession (91)

1 Name: cheshire !CjloO9Of8g : 2012-07-17 21:50 ID:0eEfl+uG [Del]

not sure if there is already a thread for this. if there is, what is it?
anyway post your weird obsession, such as, your house Must be clean at all times, or everything must be clean, or manners.

mine is whenever i change the volume it must be changed by 5 or 10, i cannot stand other people touching me, and i have to wake up at the same time every day.

2 Name: Maru-Kai !FzZsxghPjA : 2012-07-20 12:15 ID:R1xU9UrI [Del]

I can't have people behind me when I'm on the computer. Like, not even iin another room that's behind me o.o

3 Name: hiyori : 2012-07-20 14:42 ID:1KWsfaYg [Del]

Ever since watching xxxholic I can't go by a funeral or one of those cars used to transport coffins without hiding my thumbs. (*.*)

4 Name: Cactus : 2012-07-20 17:29 ID:yFX8NT3i [Del]

Most of my weird obsessions are related to food... I must swap different sized spoons around during a meal over 20 times :s I also have this thing about food being reeeeeally warm, which means microwaving it repeatedly until it's hot enough to burn.
There was a time where doors had to be shut while eating, but that's stopped...

I don't think I have any obsessions unrelated to food/drink, other than perhaps sitting in corners. It's a bit similar to >>2 minus the computer, where I can't stand my back being in the open and things being behind me. It feels cold :/ so I usually take the corner seat.

5 Name: BarabiSama!!C8QPa1Mt : 2012-07-20 17:46 ID:DIez21zL [Del]

>>4 I'm similar with that last part. I don't like things being behind me, and I don't like wide, open spaces. I feel so much more comfortable when I'm curled up surrounded by items. (That's mainly the reason that I've put too much furniture in just about every room.) I don't know why; I guess it just feels safe.

I also don't like it when I can see things... but not really see.

Take windows as an example. I hate it when I can see partially through the blinds, but I can't see enough to make out what's on the other side. Same with open doors or doors that are ajar. You can't really see what's inside them, but you can sort of see it. I have to have all the doors to closets, bathrooms, et cetera shut. I can't stand it when people leave doors open; it just bugs me. It especially bugs me when I walk into a room and a door is open. (Say, walking into the master bedroom and the bathroom door being open.)

6 Name: BarabiSama!!C8QPa1Mt : 2012-07-20 17:51 ID:DIez21zL [Del]

Another. My sleeping habits are weird :/ I always sleep with the covers over my head, and I prefer to sleep wih 3-4 winter blankets. I have to have 2-3 large pillows, and if I don't have a large enough pillow to hug, I need a giant teddy bear or a pile of stuffed animals. If I don't have anything to hug, I sleep on my back with my knees bent up and my head under one of the pillows.

7 Name: BarabiSama!!C8QPa1Mt : 2012-07-20 17:59 ID:DIez21zL [Del]

More.

I automatically lock every door. This is thanks to my brother :/ He used to always walk in on me in the bath, so I had to start locking the door. I eventually got into the habit, so now I unintentionally lock any door that I can when I walk in/out of a room in my (or my friends') house(s).

I always turn my computer chair so the back is on my left, and I always curl up in my computer chair. Sometimes I'll bring my knees up and lean to my left. Sometimes I'll pretzel my legs. Sometimes I'll bring one knee up and bend the other to the side (so it makes an L). Othertimes I'll bring both knees up on either side of me so they make a V. I don't even know why; it's just habitual.

I always chew on my headphone cords ><'

8 Name: Doremo : 2012-07-20 18:13 ID:+qpU1KCS [Del]

>>7 I lock doors by force of habit too. My mom pounds on the door and yells at me whenever I lock her out. I've even started locking myself out of my own room.

9 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2012-07-20 22:41 ID:9D6mZJrK [Del]

I hate people standing behind me. I'm not explaining why on that one, but I'll tell you that part of the reason is because of my lack of trust in the human race. I also hate not having on a jacket. The reasons are the same as not liking people behind me.

I will not wear a long sleeve shirt with a jacket on because I hate it when the sleeve rolls up.

I figured I'd need to say something before derailing this thread. Reading all of Barabi's weird obsessions is awkward. It makes me feel like I'm looking in to her personal life.

>>9 i hate people behind me too, makes me all nerves and paranoid

i also get real freaked out when people get to close to my food when i'm eating/making it. i even have a strange habit of growling, but not just about the being near my food thing. i just have a tenacity to growl.

i also always have to wear long selves,i hate to have my arms not covered, i wear gloves too, when i can, or cover my hands with the selves.

i like tinny tight small spaces, but hate big open ones.

eh, thats all i can thing of....

15 Name: draygon : 2012-07-21 01:30 ID:TtHOOAFg [Del]

Wow you guys have basically listed all of my weird obsessions like:
-I can't leave any doors open especially when I sleep
-No matter where I am or how hot it is I always wear a black jacket and put my hands in the pockets because I can't stand flailing my arms around when I walk
-I have to have volume set at an even number unless its 5 or 0
-I can't stand people sitting behind me and if they are then I sit sideways so I can see the whole room

I have more but you probably don't want me listing off everything...or do you?

When ever I leave my computer, even to just use the restroom, I lock it, turn the monitor off, and turn the volume down. I guess I'm just paranoid of people snooping around while I'm gone.

I've recently started to force myself to keep my hands out of my pockets when I walk. I've always kept them in my pockets because otherwise they would just hang uselessly. I'm not very good with body language and hand movements.

I'll post more if I can think of some.

20 Name: Hatash : 2012-07-21 18:04 ID:VdcYAhm4 [Del]

My parents wonder why I can't leave my door open when I'm sleeping. I need to keep it closed because every time I leave it open I fucking see one hell of a creepy spirit(And I am awake during that)...

Yaoi it made people bully me

26 Name: Ayaka !.LlKAkH4Jk : 2012-07-22 05:24 ID:yBZoTJs/ [Del]

Before I go to bed, I have to make sure that any and all objects that could make weird, creepy shapes are out of my sight or covered up, or else I'll get freaked out in the dark. All doors have to be completely closed, they can't even be a crack open, or else it'll feel like something's watching me. Also, I always hang my dressing gown over my chair, so the other clothes that are hanging on it don't start to look like strange faces or people when I switch off the light.
Also, the curtains must be closed. I can't bear to sleep with them open, it feels as if someone will look through them and watch me sleep.
Finally, I always sleep with the blanket completely covering me up; I always pull it up to my neck or chin, regardless of how warm it is.

27 Name: cheshire !CjloO9Of8g : 2012-07-22 10:56 ID:0eEfl+uG [Del]

my head must point south and my face must face the east when i sleep
i must sit like l when in one of those uncomfortable chairs you see in schools
i always sit on tables even when i don't know i do it
everything in my room must be even (which is kinda hard since the people who built this house made it at an angle)
I SHALL POST MORE SOON!!!

How come this thread turned into more like a pet peeve/habit thread? lol

Let's get some shit straight.
Obsession - n. a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling. Obsessions, I believe, are compulsive behaviors that are unusual. People do it not because they want to behave that way, but because they feel they have to do so (thank you, online dictionary and wikipedia).

While I have many pet peeves (minor annoyances), such as my bedroom door being open and people snooping in my personal belongings, I don't consider them obsessions. They're quite reasonable, and so are most of things I've read on this thread.

On the other hand, when I was younger I was obsessed with collecting stickers. They're quite popular where I'm from so I guess it was reasonable too. But what made it an obsession was that I couldn't not buy a sticker when I saw it. I'd rip stickers off of places and keep them. I think I had close to 20 or 30 sticker albums when I was younger. That is a shit ton of stickers, mind you |: Currently, the closest thing I have to an obsession is using some kind of computer. I don't think I've gone more than four hours in my waking hours for the past 2-3 years without being in front of a beautiful computer screen. I mean, the internet has been quite boring, but I just automatically drift towards computers when I see them =w=

I stare at people when I'm extremely bored.
I can't sleep with a pillow unless it's to hug.
My hair has to be fanned around my head when I sleep or it bothers me.
I always tilt phone/book/laptop when people come near me. Or I try and hide it with my body.
I always look around me every few minutes or so,

I'll say more later.....maybe

I have to keep the hallway light on when I'm trying to sleep otherwise I'll see weird light shape things and scare myself.
I always think of ways to escape public places if I'm put into a bad situation.
I always have to sleep with three pillows.
I always need a blanket on top of my mattress and sheets when I sleep.
I try to hide my computer monitor when my siblings or parents invade my room (Blame Pico)
I constantly glare at strangers.
I constantly glare at children.
I like to touch other people but if they touch me they die.
I have to have my door open at a certain degree when I sleep.

36 Name: Starrrk : 2012-07-23 06:30 ID:HdoK8Zcp [Del]

>>35 lol glare at children

Anyways, I have to randomly dance before I bathe.
I also hate being touched by others.
I have to know where all my stuff is.
I have to silently sing to songs I know.
I need to have a chopstick with me at all times.

37 Name: ScaredJui2456 : 2012-07-23 07:42 ID:smabtbxZ [Del]

When I hear a song I need to know its title
I don't like guys touching me like we're close
Sometimes when I see a fag I usually stare at them for a period of time. (They will also stare at me more like glaring...)
If I'm bored I talk to myself
When I'm alone I start singing to prevent myself to be scared.
I also hate being touched by people.
And when I see a noisy or stubborn kid I usually glare at them or fight with them.

I always look at the sky about 20 times from my room.
I secretly cry in my room once or twice a week.
I always flip my 30min hourglass.
I make sure my blanket is completely over my feet because I'm afraid of spiders.
And I am COMPLETELY obsessed with TIME!! (Such as a wrist watch or pocket watch which I already have. X3)

Hmm... I think that's about it.

I am completely obsessed with personal hygiene, i shower every day as many times as needed, i wash my hands like 20 times a day, i brush my teeth after every meal, my fingernails and toenails are clipped and i wash my face 3 times a day. other than that no other things is my "obsession"

i get obsessed with a certain word. say it a lot and then it just fades.

43 Name: Ayaka !.LlKAkH4Jk : 2012-07-24 07:32 ID:yBZoTJs/ [Del]

I must always know the time. I can't bear being in a room without some kind of clock in it. I really hate not being able to check what the time is, especially when I'm at school. Not knowing how much longer I have to suffer in that classroom is very vexing for me. :\

44 Name: Mr. Haze : 2012-07-24 23:08 ID:j3wJuT2e [Del]

I only like to shop at nighttime. I'm very paranoid so I only go out when I know very few people will be out. When someone walks behind me I go to either the right or left side and wait for them to pass me. I just cannot stand it when someone is behind me. I literally cannot just look forward and not worry I have to have an eye on them at all times.

45 Name: anubis !AnUBiS6/LQ : 2012-07-24 23:37 ID:BHDvUVD4 [Del]

After every meal I organize the dishes that other people put away in the kitchen. I can't stand it when bowls of different colours or sizes are stacked together. It's, it's just wrong. The plates are even worse. I have to make sure certain ones are in the front so they get taken before other ones. I spas out when I open the cabinet and find platters of different sizes stacked together.

I constantly change the background of my laptop and Ipad.

I hate drinking water that's not from my house.

I almost love vegan desserts enough to become vegan.

I constantly make references to things nobody around me understands.

2) I dont know why but, those shows where the animation change (like the amazing world of gum ball, i think that what it's call) and thoes movie where it's a clay animation.
3) I love activites that makes me mad and wants to hit something...
4) When I talk to people i like to be in the right side.
5) When I'm around someone i have a crush on, i be mean to them or act so weird so they wont like me? idk...
6) I always ask my friends or guys i have in a relationship why do they like me or hang with me, i get the same answers all the time, but I still ask people.
7) I have an obedience problem, specially around the ppl i care about.
8) It irritates me when some one ask me a question, I answer , and then ask " are you sure?" ( If they think im going to be wrong why ask me?"

I can't sleep unless there is total darkness, I wont buy anything on the internet without doing research on the product (extensive research), I won't enter a room until I have knocked on the door (even if I know that room is empty, I like to keep games installed on my PC after I've beaten them (even if I'll never play them again, I just like to keep them, I guess), I fucking hate it when people tell me what to do, I hate it when people give me little hints about something (That goes for anything, even if you're trying to tell me to do something, which I hate as well, I'd rather you just say "Oi! Do this and get it over with you fucking prick!"), I always look for a nonviolent solution and then do the opposite of that, my room is always messy but I can't stand it if the dining room is even the slightest bit messy, my violin must always be tuned (even if I'm not going to play it), I have to use a staple gun to put pictures up on my wall, my facebook profile picture and timeline cover must match, my MLP toys must be arranged in a different order every day, if I'm not listening to music I still carry around my headphones, I like to have my T.V. running even if I'm not watching it (I'll even get up to change the channel if something bad comes on while I'm not watching), I don't wear my glasses even though i know that they would help and I can't stop watching the same anime series over and over again (Elfen Lied, Panty and Stocking, School Days)

PS: I'll only buy an anime on DVD if it has 13 episodes or less.

>>54 I'm the same with cups/dishes. I can't eat or drink anything if my eye has been off of it even for a second.

I have such a huge obsession with food being measured and accurate; because of it I can only eat preportioned food. If I ever have loose food like fruit or veg, even that has to be measured... I can't eat anything that hasn't been labelled either...
It's the same thing with drinks, if it's in a large sharing bottle then I have to measure it out... In cafes it's quite embarrassing when they serve things in cups (like I ask for some coke and they pour it in a glass) because I won't even touch it.

Like I said in my previous post, I have a lot of rituals/obsessions related to food, which have built over time due to an addiction with calorie counting.
It's hard for me to write this post admitting it... It really is tough to deal with at the moment because I just don't understand it :/

My weird obsession: ANIME ALL ANIME!!!!

59 Name: Kaze : 2012-07-28 17:07 ID:4JsUq3z/ [Del]

Ok. I'll just start with the worst one. (and the most embarissing one -.-') I pick my nose. I've tried to stop, but when I don't do it, it sort of feels like I can't breath.

Whenever I sleep somewhere I cuddle up as if against someone's shoulder. Even when there is no one there...

If I feel insecure (Like with people or place) I have to have my hair down as a "protectiv layer"

If I'm riding a bike or in a car or bus, I want to have something on my head (like a hat or cap), because otherwise it feels as if my scull will break easly.

If I EVER change in front of my computer, I ALLWAYS put something in front of the camera.

Well. I think that's about it -.-

Always have to count stairs as I climb them. Not all the stairs in a day, just each individual staircase. Usually in Japanese, sometimes in English or French.

-sit oddly in a chair (examples: crouching, sitting on top of it, sitting sideways, etc)
-play a song I like over and over and over for days on end, until I'm obsessed with a new song
-when I'm thinking or spacing out, I have to crack my neck or back
-I have to look around me and analyze people around me, and if they look at me, we have a stare down, and I never look away first. Disadvantage: I apparently glare, not stare, that's why people look away quickly -_-
-stuff has to be organized in a way my brain works (mildly scrambled, stuff kept in a place I'll remember it, not necessarily where it's supposed to be)

72 Name: Dioleag!wYygCyWbiI : 2012-09-01 06:58 ID:AlSY6yAp [Del]

-I'm obsessed with knives and swords to the point wear I have to be pulled away from the sight of them everytime, or if I'm examining a friends knife I have to have them take it and hide it from me.

-I have a similar problem with dragon imagery, only it goes to the point thati I have to wear something with a dragon everyday.

-I have to listen to music with headphones on no matter what. Even if I'm alone in my house.

Those are the biggest ones I have.

73 Name: Em !1PZuOSuEBg : 2012-09-01 09:37 ID:ClUbepy/ [Del]

I'm really paranoid that somebody is going break into my house, so every time I go into the entry room, I have to check to make sure the door is locked.

Most of the time when I'm at school and not wearing a skirt, I have to sit in my seat Indian style or else I feel really antsy.

I like counting in fives. If I change the volume of something, it must always be divisible by five, etcetera.

Whenever I eat dinner at home, I have to drink a glass of milk. If there isn't any in the fridge, I'm not eating. I also have to pace myself while eating and drinking milk. There has to be very little milk by the time I'm done eating and that little sip of milk is always what finishes my meal.

I like referencing something or stating a random thing that I'm sure nobody in the room will get, just for kicks.

I hate when somebody is standing behind me when I'm sitting and trying to do something (on the computer, schoolwork, drawing, etc.). I just stop whatever I'm doing, and can't start doing it again until they stop.

Whenever I change clothes, I always have to shut my bedroom door. Even when I'm home alone.

Every time I pass by a cemetery in the car, I have to hold my breath, and if I was talking to somebody, stay silent.

I read every manga twice. Once to get the plot and the next time to examine the art better.

When I walking somewhere more more than a minute, I have to keep checking behind myself to make sure nobody is following me.

I always have to have a clock in the room when I go to sleep. I hate waking up and not knowing what time it is.

I calorie count. If I don't make sure I'm not taking in too many calories, I feel fat.

I don't eat white bread, only wheat. I also have to cut the crust off when I'm eating a sandwich.

I have to stay active and do sports or athletic activities every day.

I drink a cup of green tea every evening before bed.

I always have to eat a home-cooked lunch. I never eat the cafeteria food at school.

I feel lonely if I don't walk to class with someone, and I worry that I'll get lost, so I always have to walk to class with at least one of my friends.

I think that's it for me. ._.

-When I sleep, every single door MUST be closed. I don't care if it's to the bathroom, or closet. It must be closed.

-Also when I sleep. I must have one sheet and either a big poofy blanket or two to three light fleece blankets and a heavy cotton one over me covering everything except my head.

-Again, when I sleep. I must be sleeping on my side or stomach. No matter how I'm laying, I must be facing the wall. If there is no wall touching either side of my bed, then I'll sleep facing away from the door leading to the rest of the house. If the door is by the foot of the bed, then I'll sleep facing away from the closet. So far, I've never experienced a room where they were both on the wall at the foot of my bed, but let me give it to you this way. A plane wall would be the best. If there is no plain wall, then this is the order I'll prefer to have on the wall I'm facing window, bathroom, closet, and door leading to the rest of the house. If it's on the wall I'm facing, but I can't see it when laying on my bed (which would happen if it's not directly across from my bed), then it doesn't count. If it's on the wall that's touching the head of my bed, but I can still see it, then it does count. Basically, I want to only see plain wall.

-Another weird sleeping obsession, It must be completely dark. The most I'll permit is a small bit of light since that always can't be helped. If there is a small bit of light, it must at least be completely dark until my eyes are closed.

-Another sleep one, The pillow must lie between my shoulder and head, and it must be a hard pillow and it can't be flat. The pillow case must also be perfectly smooth over the pillow. The pillowcase can't be the slightest bit itchy.

-My last sleep one for now, my hair can't touch my face or neck AT ALL when I sleep.

-I lied, when I sleep, the room must be cold.

-I have to drink at least half a gallon of water every day. (My friends think it's weird.)

-When I leave the computer, all of the windows I have running must be closed. My computer must either have the screensaver on with a password to end the screensaver, or I must be logged out. I don't care if I'll only be gone for ten seconds. If I leave the computer at all, this must happen.

-Again with my computer, all cookies and history on my computer must be erased every two weeks, and my anti-virus must be run every week or when I'm on a site that I haven't been on before.

-I cannot share someone's computer, and I cannot let someone use my computer. It drives me insane.

-I don't care if my room is a mess, if I put something there, I expect it to stay there until I move it again. Chances are, it'll be put back there when I'm done with it.

-Nobody is to enter my room without my consent, and chances are that you won't get my consent. People do it anyways, and I've snapped at them for doing so. They get upset about that.

-When I am in my room, the door leading to the rest of the house must be closed.

-When I am on my computer, I must be in my room with nobody else in it. As soon as somebody comes in, I'll turn it off, something that my parents gave me shit for when I was little.

-I have a bag of stuff that I bring everywhere with me. It is not to be touched.

-My food is my food. It is not to be touched unless I give you consent. Failing to follow this will result in your hand being stabbed.

-If I allow you in my room, do not touch anything unless I say that you can. If I say you can touch something, I'll tell you what it is that you're allowed to touch. You'll only get consent if you ask if you can borrow something and I'm too busy to go get it myself, which will most likely not happen. If it does, you can only be in there long enough to go in, grab it, and leave.

-If you are in my room and you are not in there to get something, but I've given you permission to be in there, I must be watching you. I also have to give you permission each time you enter my room. You may look at it from the outside, but just because I said you can go in once doesn't mean you're allowed to go in ever again.

-If I tell you why I'm upset, you are not allowed to tell me anything that makes your life sound worse. Doing this will automatically make me hate you.

-If You tell me you'll do something, it must be started immediately. Failure in doing so will result in me doing it myself.

-As soon as I'm done with the dishes, they must be washed. If I am too busy to wash them, they must be rinsed and soaked until I am able to wash them.

-As soon as the trash is filled, it must be taken out. Failure in doing so will result in me being pissed at you.

-As for my room being messy, if something does have a specific place, then it must always be put there. The places for some things aren't always obvious.

-If I am in my room, you must knock and then wait for me to say you can come in before entering.

-You may not touch me unless I know you and trust you. The only exception to this rule is a hug. You many only hug me if I know you. Just because I trust you enough to let you touch me, doesn't mean I trust you completely.

More to come probably. Meanwhile, this used to be an obsession.

-I must wear a jacket, jeans, and a short sleeved shirt at all times. The shirt must have a low cut front, not enough to show cleavage but enough so where it's below my collarbone. The jacket sleeves must cover my hands. It must be a jack that's either a zip-up or button-up.

I still have the obsessions with my shirt and jacket, but I don't have to wear that outfit all of the time.

I always have to have nail polish on, it doesn't matter if it's just a clear coat, something must be on. I can't stand to feel my bare nails.

I can't stand touching/when other people touch/rub/scratch at the fabric that's on the side of the backpack that touches your back.

I can't stand touching nylon.

No one can touch my feet/legs and nothing may touch my feet. Also, I must always wear socks(unless I am wearing flip flops.)

That's it for now...

Well, since this is still up here...

When I sleep I must first go through several different positions until I end up in some weird, spread formation. I've been told when I'm dead tired and I fall asleep quickly, I move around in my sleep.

I'm not comfortable unless I can at least see the outside. If I can't I at least need to know where it is and how to get there.

Speaking of outside, if I'm staying somewhere longer than a day I have to scout out the nearby area. The longer I stay somewhere, the more I need to know what the area around me is like. I've already gone out four times since moving to college.

I can eat just about anything away from home, including things I refuse to eat at home.

As a general rule of thumb, for every two hours or so I spend socializing with other people, I need an hour alone. This will not usually be apparent to other people, but if I don't satisfy my need for solitude I can become either extremely belligerent or overcome by the need for adrenaline.

80 Name: MobileName !Lup0uZudWo : 2012-09-15 20:33 ID:awlwhG12 [Del]

When I sleep, there must be some noise and a light the level of natural half-moon light or brighter and sound louder than a cricket. If there is not both, I cannot sleep. At all.

When placing something, it must be within 1/16 of an inch of where I want it; otherwise, I will mess with it until perfect.

I there is a detail on a sprite or something of the like that I am editing/making that is not exactly the color, pattern, etc., I want, wether one pixel or many, I will make it perfect. Down to the RBG, brightness levels, everything.

My video games must not have games from the same consol touching while keeping the series together. No exceptions.

The satalite remote must be on my right an the TV remote on my left.

Everything within arm's length must. Be. Perfect; otherwise, I will fix it.

Sentences containing thus, otherwise, or words from the same category must have a semicolon ending the sentence beforehand and comas where they belong. Otherwise I will fix it. Even if it's in a book.

Okay here are some:
I have to either sit cross-legged, one leg up, legs under me, or legs beside me when I sit. Either that or I have to have my legs propped up. I don't like when my feet are touching the ground. It's just... uncomfortable.

I have to keep my food from touching. Whenever different foods touch, it grosses me out, and I have to seperate them, or else I won't eat.

My walls in my room must be covered. Just by pictures, posters, or random things you can hang on the wall. If there is a hole, it has to be covered.

No matter where I am, I always have to know the time, and I always look around me every few seconds. I'm not paranoid, it's just habitual.

I have to have my blinds cracked so I can look outside.
May post more.

No other game, just that one. Why is it weird? I'm not a 12 year old boy. I'm an 18 year old girl and I still play is over and over and over. You cannot get more obsessed than me, I assure you.
