This wouldn't truly fit anywhere on Main, or anywhere else, so I'm posting this here. It wouldn't work as a Mission, either, would it?

Now, Reltair doesn't see a problem with using DRRRChat. I know a few of you wouldn't care, and would agree with him. Anyway, if you are those who are wanting our own chat, please post on here, and explain the reason as to why you're wanting us to have our own chat. I think this might help with how he see's that chat.

I personally hate it. I hate the community on it. The constant Role players. The constant sex rper, the morons who just go on random topics, talking about DRRR. The fact we have no say over what goes down. This is the reasons I want us to have one for -us-.


Anyone else? What do you have to say?

It seems like every week you have something to say about the chat system. Last I heard you and some others were even trying to make your own. (given the five or six threads across Main, Tech, Suggestions, etc). It's becoming more annoying than the "problem" itself.

No matter what kind of chatroom you go to across the internet, there will be role players. There will be sex roleplayers. And sense DRRR! chat and the Dollars BBS are themed like the show's Dollars BBS and chat, people are going to make the assumption that it's fanbased.

Don't believe me? Go to DeviantArt. Go to GaiaOnline. Go to IMVU. Go to NSider2, even. You'll find people who have similar behaviors even if the mediums are different. That's net culture; you cannot avoid it.

If it really pisses you off so much, then just leave. Frankly, we're sick of hearing it.

Simply put, There's not going to be much of a difference and changing the chatroom doesn't solve the problem. You and anybody who wants to can still use your chatroom, nobody's going to stop you there. But.. yeah.

It isn't going to hurt a damn poor soul, if they list it. They list it, I show it to Reltair, and see what he says after. I don't need some long winded posts about how you see my actions, or what you think 'I"m thinking' or any bullshit along those lines.

I could say the same thing about people who hate seeing me voice my opinion, or actually posting something, anything, really. If you don't like it, don't fucking view it. It's not going to kill you to have a topic like this once every blue fucking moon.

I don't post much shit on here in terms of posting shit in the wrong boards. I don't post topics not meant to be posted.
I try to follow the rules, and make others do the same.
I don't think it hurts anyone, just to have a topic like this made up, if there is a reason, and if I don't fucking do anything wrong. I may be annoying at times, but everyone is, sometimes, somewhere, somehow. You will not find a single person NOT annoying. There will be some.

I'm making a list. This list to be used just to show Reltair. Now what does it hurt, to just say if you want it, or not, instead of trying to call me out over a topic that there isn't anything wrong about it?

Live2Die put up a thread on Main a few days ago about how he had a new chat site up and running. I've taken a look at it, and I think it's good. It's just like the chat we use now, except only our members know about it, so you can forget about RP'ers, and those weird cyber-sex people.

The overall reaction to this suggestion seems negative or neutral. While I don't particularly care myself, It seems that a fair portion of our community more or less does use the DRRRchat for the very reasons you - and many others, including myself - dislike it.

Just because they don't speak up much on the forums doesn't mean we don't have a portion of the community devoted to being weaboo little fanfucks who enjoy cybersex and "lolsorandum" conversations with terrible *actionstar* RPing. It just means that the rest of us have yelled at them enough to make them shut up.

I'd like to take this moment to say Good job, guys! I knew we could make a difference!

However, that still leaves the group of people who dislike that behavior. It seems selfish to surplant the idiot's chat with one for the people who dislike it - Because regardless of whether the two sides like each other, we are both part of said community. We'd essentially just be trading one chatroom preferred by one portion of the community for another chatroom preferred by another portion.

I can't see a reason to endorse it, outside of my own personal preference.

That said, You very well could offer your own chat as an alternative, as opposed to surplanting and replacing the one we are directed towards now - Thus allowing members to choose which one they would prefer to use. I feel like that would probably garner a more generally positive feedback than your current goal.

But that raises the question of how that would be properly implemented without becoming tacky or pretentious? Would we have a link asking "go to the weaboo chats or the serious chats?", how would you propose it be set up aesthetically, etc.

You could make the argument that "making a thread asking if people want to use this chat instead of that one IS offering an alternative!" But that would fall under suggesting that we use one, rather than the other - And if you have a finished product to show off, it would be fairly helpful to have it linked in the first post for people to look around and get a feel for to help decide.

However, that leads me to...

All of this, including the list, does in the end belong in Suggestions. Regardless of whether it's a suggestion, or a "I am gathering a list of signatures to present this whether you like it or not", things that can be classified under the nature of altering, modifying or otherwise changing the structure, layout or content of BBS fall under the Suggestions board - As that is where everything goes to be reviewed, criticized, commented on, and ultimately approved or disapproved of.

I don't really care if the chat gets changed or not, but if the idea gets shot down due to strange presentation or thread getting derailed over details or personal issues, then it's an overall loss for all parties involved - Regardless of what choice gets made.

What about the normal 'chatroom' link up top, just redirects to a page that shows 2 links? Title for each just being Chat 1/Chat 2. Chat 1 can be DRRRChat since it obviously came way first.

I'll bring that up to Reltair next time he replies to my Email, if it seems like a much more better, and organized way of going about it.

Rather than Chat 1/Chat 2, I'd consider something like "DRRR Chat" and "BBS Official" - Or something of the like. More to give a solid and definitive differentiation than anything else.

Yeah, that would work better and just look a lot better. If it was a choice, it probably would end up getting more people over time, than replacing it altogether. I always do love a good choice.

Not to mention that there are so many threads across the boards, I can't even remember what board had the links on it, if there were any. You thread!spammed about this one idea wa-a-ay too much. Plus, I still can't even get on your chat to see if it is decent or worthy of being used.

Aside from Ayanavi's helpful input, I have but one thing to mention:

Do you have a stable server?

I ask this because your cellphone thingamafuck has had issues in the past. If the answer is "no" or "I'm not sure" or "there's no way to tell" then take this idea, and put it in the trash.

I couldn't care less if there's another link for a THIRD (look to the right, see IRC channel) chat - but if you can't guarantee that yours is stable, then it's a complete waste of time.

My own rendition: Steal Ayanavi's popup idea, attach the IRC link to one of them. Solves the problem that I never really saw to begin with.

It's pretty stable, and I'm sure it can handle a good load of users. We just don't know the actual limit, until we reach it, but it wont' be low.

Just got to find out why a few aren't able to get on. Going to have to check and see what's up.
