supposedly cat-lovers have more interesting personalities, as what i've heard. I like small dogs, GIANT DOGS, and cats are okay. :D They only come in one size, so i dont really like them as much. Plus they shed. fffff

I like dogs 'cause they're way more loving and stuffs. My dad's cat is pretty cold, like she just sticks around for the food, whereas my dog is always eager to cuddle, play, or whatever.

I love cats because of their cold dispositions. You have to earn their respect and love...with a dog you just have to pet it a little and give it some food. I like a challenge.

I think you're the exception, not the rule. Cats perpetually love me, and it's hard to not see affection when they walk up to you and purr and meow at you or rub against you.

I dislike most dogs. Mindless love and obedience sickens me, so having dogs around is like a perpetual reminder that I could kick it, or withhold food from it, and it'll just keep loving me.

As opposed to cats, where if you want their love or respect - it ends up as a give-and-take relationship. You respect and love them, they respect and love you. It's more of an individual experience, because even if you like them, they might not like you. That's just life.

As opposed to "Get dog. Get love."

Dogs are simple. Dog owners are simple. I rarely respect either. Finding one worth a damn out of either pile is a rare and memorable event.

Reasons I like cats: They are ninjas, able to jump very high, and are the silent watchers of their domain.
Reasons I like dogs: They have energy.
Other: Because I can.

I'm kidding, but still. There are a hell of a lot of dumbfucks in this world, and dog ownership has nothing to do with it. You can't make such generalizations about a population of people, especially if the characteristics you're attributing to the aforementioned population are basically unrelated to the defining quality of the group.

I'm a cat person, through and through.

My oldest cat, Neo, he and I have full-on conversations with each other. It sounds weird, but damn is he smart.

Nothing against dogs, personally(or any animal, for that matter), I just love mah cats.

They sit on my head, lean down to eat my socks, and once I start fighting them off, they proceed to drag me around by my hair until I'm obedient. I can't fight them; they're too giant and adorable /;o;/

They're pretty independent, at least compared to dogs. Dogs take more work, while cats can somewhat take care of themselves.

Dogs.
While I do love cats, and one of my dogs acts more like a cat(being a Shiba Inu), I gotta say, dogs are amazing.
I've had a ton of dogs, and I couldn't live without them.

I've never had a cat, and would love to get one, but dogs are my preferred. Their personality really shows in each dog the moment you meet them, and they're always there when you need cheering up, whether it's by making you laugh, or staying by your side.

My Shiba respects me and listens well, but our Chihuahua and GSD puppy don't, the puppy will learn to, but our Chihuahua was spoiled by her last owner, so she likely won't.

And my dogs have always been independent. Just depends on how you train them. If you leave them alone more when they're a puppy rather than constant attention, they won't absolutely flip out on you when you leave.
And if you socialize them as pups, then they end up more wellrounded and don't get super excited (at least enough to pee) when people come around.

I haven't had any of the really popular breeds though like the retrievers; and our lab/chow was an outdoor dog, and very protective, he had two hens that were his friends and would give him eggs each morning, when a fox nabbed em, he uprooted his doghouse dragged it through the woods and when it got stuck broke the chain and killed that fox.
Other than that we had a minpin, pompom, two other chihuahuas, 2 boston terriers, another GSD, and a great dane, and I can say from all of them, dogs are the way to go.

The really amazing thing is seeing how different each of their personalities were, even among the same breed!

I own both a cat and a dog, and they're both assholes. However, my cat's asshole-ery is more endearing to me than my dog's, so...

I say cats.

I love both dogs and cats. I like them almost equally. However, cats don't like me as much as I like them. They tend to try to bite me ;~; I've only met one cat who enjoyed my company, yet dogs always love me.
