>>12 I've come to the conclusion, after years of careful planning, that really it doesn't matter which zombies we end up having to deal with. There are different eventualities, sure, but the ground rules are always the same.
I teach different tactics for different situations in my little club. And, as it turns out, the classic walkers seem to be the most troublesome. Think about it, when you deal with runners, you can use their momentum against them; sidestepping and dodging are easy to do when they can't put on the breaks. That and runners tend to be more spread out and loosely packed when moving as a group.
Walkers, however, move like water; also the reason I try to stay away from guns. Cut, or shoot, one down and there is another who takes his place. Walkers are hard to distinguish from a crowd, meaning you can't ever be sure how many there are. Dealing with walkers can become problematic because they have this ability to slowly cut off all of your exits. Before you know it, your back's against the wall and you're begging for death.
But! Stick to the basic rules of survival and you won't have a problem. (i.e. Stay away from populated areas, trust your gut, always keep your head on a swivel, etc.)
