I ask because I was looking online and people were saying that vampires are real really real making me think coo-coo people then I found out there is a syndrome that causes light sensitivity and the felling that you have to drink blood.
I also found that some mutations in certain genes can cause extreme strength and speed.
It could be insanity, or genetics, or insanity.

I think they're pretty shitty monsters. Why are they all pussies? Why do they insist on fraternizing with their food? Why do they have so few powers? Why do they have powers (supposedly) and not fucking use them? When did their genes get spliced with disco balls? Why do their appearances only range from Gay Supermodel to Cereal Mascot?
Almost none of these questions can be answered in a way that doesn't piss me off or make the monster in question sound any less pathetic.

I read in a few places that before Atlantis sunk, they were technologically millenium ahead of the rest of the world, and even more advanced than we are now. There was a nano-robot they created that, when injected into the bloodstream, would repair all damage to the body inhumanly fast, cure any diseases, and basically reverse age. You'd get immortal life living in your prime because these nano-bots would never let you age, because they replaced all injured or aging cells with new and healthy ones.
However, there was a downside.
These nano-bots used the energy from blood to do their work. Atlantis set up a blood doning system for those who had been injected with the nano-bots, so they wouldnt have to kill people. That had to drink blood once a day, sometimes more if they sustained heavy damage for some reason or went out into sunlight. The UV rays in sunlight causes constant damage to the skin, so whenever out in sunlight the nano-bots had to work alarmingly fast.
And if the person injected with the nano-bots didnt drink enough blood, the nano-bots would travel to his/her vital organs get get the blood and nutrients need from there to do their work. This, however, caused excrushiating pain and eventual death.
When Atlantis fell, a few of these nano-bot-injected people got to the mainland. Horrified by how behind the rest of the world was in terms of technology, they had to live underground and come up at night, attacking people and drinking blood, but leaving them enough to survive.
Nobody knows exactly where their fangs came from, but it might have been from evolution. They no longer had the large blood banks from Atlantis, so they had to attack and bite their 'prey' to get what they needed for life.
Hence, vampires.

I always loved them when they were you know, Vampires. Not sparkly shirtless leeches :I
Whether they were scary, or friendly, vicious, or sweet, they ALWAYS had a vicious side, and they were all powerful (Hence so many weaknesses.)
I'm not gonna start hating the creatures just because of a flood of romance novels that don't seem to know much about the lore itself. (like, in legends, Vampires have been known to deceive people and live out their lives with them -whether they fell in love or not, only they would know- and use their partner to sustain themselves. Whether it was through their blood itself, or their lifeforce that they sucked out.)
Most of the garbage being written today aren't vampires though, twilight being most notable. Even werewolves (which in certain legends they actually derived from the same creatures, which is why they grew to hate each other) make better vampires than the stupid shit that appears in today's stories.
Hell, even DISNEY writes better vampire stories .

I don't know about that, but I recently saw a movie called "What We Do in the Shadows." It's a comedy/fake documentary film on vampires in the modern world, and it's hysterical.
