Wall of Text (21)

Okay, just wondering why so many people type without using punctuation or even capitalization. I mean it's fine if its a short answer, but I see paragraphs of this stuff that people want to get read but they don't space or capitalize and if there's punctuation it's a miracle; but you end up with this long block of text that looks like a single sentence or is incredibly hard to read.

Some of it, yes, trolls; but others. Seriously, it doesn't take that much longer to make your sentences legible.

So I was wondering if there was some stupid reason for it that I've overlooked. I doubt it, but you never know.

Also, if you are one of these people, it makes it harder to read your posts and then makes it less likely someone will respond.
What is the reason for it? Like, it doesn't even take a second or two more to capitalize or place a comma or period in your sentences; so is it just pure laziness? Some people, I know, don't know how to use correct punctuation (one of my homeschooled buddies cannot spell or doesn't know when to use apostrophes or punctuation at all, and I have to help her) but there can't really be that many people that were homeschooled and have the same excuse.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I see alot of really interesting posts that are incredibly hard to read because its just a massive wall of text. Or they don't convey the whole idea of what they mean and you have to kinda guess.
I just don't see much of a point to it, I know people on deviantart who just use terrible spelling and punctuation and everything, "because it's easier". To be honest it looks like it takes more effort to type like than type normally; and its a challenge to the reader too, so who exactly is it easier on?

Sorry for the rant, folks.

Grammar Nazis, UNITE! Lol

So you don't see any of my posts that are full of capitalizations or punctuations? LOL

My phone is a grammar Nazi for me. If I make two spaces, it puts a period. After every period it automatically capitalizes next letter. Plus the letter "I" gets automatically capitalized. :P

I agree with this thread!

Paragraphs are wonderful. Even more than using punctuation, or capitalization, which i don't have much of an issue with, if some people would just learn to use paragraphs that would make me very happy.

I really can't understand how people don't realize that one big chunk of text just isn't a good idea.

>>6 Agreed. Sometimes it can be hard to tell how much text in the text box translates to too much in the actual post though, because they have different widths.

I approve of this thread, if we band together then we can defeat Collossus Stupidus like Insertnamehere mentioned in the other thread.

As a general rule, the community gets away with exactly as much as the people in it will accept. If you're tired of this shitty grammar and spelling, like some of you are, then don't stand for it. Be actively against it. Etc.

Same thing goes for if you think the weaboo population is too high, or the amount of people who make useless threads are too great. Speak about it, let your displeasure be known - In exquisitely formed grammatical syntax that clearly communicates your feelings by way of linguistic interaction.

Then let us unite to make the Dollars a more grammatically correct site/group!
And I'm totally gonna start bothering people for poor grammar. Like some of it is understandable, I've had my fair share of bad English teachers, but enaugh is enaugh wen peeple constantly spell liek dis.

Also, I figure I should thank all of you for knowing the importance of correct spacing, spelling and grammar lol

This thread fills me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Which is quite similar to the feeling of putting on clothes that just came out of the dryer.

Bump, because people have forgotten to write proper or observe proper grammar. Let us unite and stop the deterioration of the art of communication.
