I'm scared (3)

I have one huge problem... Soon (literally next month) I have to take exams at a music school. Just thinking about it makes me panic a lot. And it's not that I'm not ready and I don't know anything. No. I am perfectly prepared and can get top marks. The problem is my excitement and anxiety. I'm afraid I'll faint right on the exam. I'm afraid that I won't be able to cope with simple tasks because my brain will stop thinking because of excitement. What should I do... The pills are no longer helping. I am very much afraid. Fearfully...

If you are fully prepared then I suggest exhaust yourself somehow, before the day of the exam. Physically, mentally exhaust yourself. With something other then music. Something that makes you plop down in bed from all the strenuous activity & fall asleep almost instantly. As many times as you need to now until then. Skip dinner the night before so your body can focus on recovery. Set multiple alarms. Have a good breakfast but make time to digest that for a bit too so it's not a weight in your belly while youre taking the exam. Avoid stimulants now till then; excess sugar or salt. Coffee too, the sooner the better so the caffeine headaches come and go. Or just less sugar & more water to follow.

That is a horrible idea. I am also a music student at a music studio. I am a piano player and have been playing for over a decade. Every year I take my yearly exam so then I could move to the next level. I know what you are exactly feeling. The anxiety I know all of it. The excitement, not so much. I hate playing the piano and the only reason I am enrolled is because of my parents. From my experience, the best advice I can give you is to not think about it too much otherwise it will mess you up. I practiced a lot before the exam but when the exam came, I blacked out numerous times which caused me to lose marks. Don't think about messing up because you will if you keep thinking about it. Keep your focus only on playing your instrument. Instead of thinking about the bad side, think about what comes next. After you are done doing your exams, you are free from your anxiety. Think about that if you need to. Hope this helps
