i think what defines us as a person is our desires. however it is more internal. externally, i would say what you do defines you. of course, we can analyse "desires" and "do" and come up with dozens of definitions. but to me, these factors are the closest to our true selves.

I don't know much about us as a "person" but I remember my little sister defining people as "something that has 46 chromosomes". This was when we were discussing Shin Sekai Yori, and it says there that olive trees, too, have 46 chromosomes. So it got her thinking, are humans "humans" because they have 46 chromosomes? What does that say about olive trees having 46 chromosomes?
I know it's kinda far from the thread topic but what makes a person a "person" is not her chromosomes. I guess it'd be consciousness.

I find that people can assume that fall is the most contemplative of seasons. Though, sometimes, more people are talkative during spring, because it is viewed worldwide as the season of rebirth.
