Maybe it's a stupid one but from my experience keeping the people that you don't get along with around you sometimes comes out useful. I've ended some relationships in really bad terms just because i felt very angry, and it affected me a lot more than "pretending" i liked that certain person.

I once had a problem and was discussed with my parents.
Pops simply said "then, what's next? It not about who's fault, what you should've done, it is what it is, it's done, it's shit I get you but what's next? What will you do? gonna sulk or actually do something?"
I think it's a bit gentle, cold and logical; it feels like you got hit? walk it off you have no choice, and the same time the trust and belief that you are a strong person and can pull this off.
