I've been struggling with time management lately, it's been super hard to actually get things done on time without me losing a piece of my sanity. I honestly don't know what to do.

it might be too simple for you, but have you tried having a planner notebook? i had one, it helped me a lot.

to add on to <<2, I plan in breaks so that I don't feel like I have to do everything in one burst. it might take some trial & error to see what works best for you (ex. I started with 30 min work, 5 minutes break. but I'd get too distracted during the 5 min & wouldn't get enough done in the 30, so over time I adjusted it and now I tend to do 1.5 hrs work, 20-30 min break. the best ratio is prob different for everyone)

if you're having trouble starting things, sometimes it can help to attach a specific assignment to another activity as well. like I catch up on textbook reading after walking the dog, or watch a video lecture right after breakfast, etc. if you're also doing asynchronous online classes, it helps me to select a "class time" for myself. like there's one class I work on every T/Th from 9am - 12pm. I find that keeping a schedule like that makes things a habit.

also, checklists. I write the most specific things just so I can feel good when I cross em off. "email prof about X" is a major accomplishment for me. for me it helps to break large tasks into smaller tasks too. for example I'm presenting a research article on Monday. on Wednesday my checklist said "pick article & get approval," on Thursday "read 1/2 article," on Friday, "read 1/2 article, start making presentation" on Saturday "finish presentation & practice". notice that I also tend to schedule to finish a couple days ahead of time... just so I have some leeway in case I take too long (which happens often lol)

hope something here will work for you!

forgot to say this - I remember getting some of these strategies online, I basically just googled "ways to focus for adults with ADHD". I don't have ADHD but I figured if it helps them, it'll probably work for others too (and I've had pretty good results). you might be able to find some other strategies by researching like that :)
