Im tired of this math (7)

Mostly, we dont like math right? Im curious what it feels like to be smart in math. We're smart (even if you feel it or not) if we understood math but we need someone's guidance like students who called as math wizards. I just dont want to rely on my friends who are easy to understand and solving math quickly. I just want to do it by myself but it takes time to do it. Once I study math, it took hours for me to get it and when i solve, my answers are wrongXD. (Btw, im not totally stupid in math. Its just im lack of analysis and videos in yt arent totally effective to me)

Guys, if u have tips to be smart in math (temporary?), tell me okay?

Just sharing my feelings rn. Im totally tired of this math. It's not useful if you go to the groceries stores. You dont need to use calculus and find x and y in changing money xd

Hello. I might be able to provide some help but it depends on the subject of math. If it's like geometry or statistics or something like that then honestly idk but I know algebra 1 and 2. I did learn calculus (was forced to learn it actually) but I forgot most of the stuff. So what in math makes you struggle?

It is calculus and general mathematics. I dont have problem abt geometry and algebra etc. these two subj. are the worst xd. We dont have teachers to teach us since we re adjusting to new normal. My family arent good in math so i always rely on internet but sometimes i need someone who guide me. I have a guy friend who is very good in math but sadly, he doesnt want to teach everyone

Sry for being late, got strict parents so I can't be on all day but what I did (was forced to do technically) was a textbook that used space-repetition. Basically, it engraves the stuff you learn into your mind. Obviously, after some time you'll forget about it but it's still pretty useful.

The way it does this is by having you learn stuff and other things at the same time and apply it in some problems. So for example, lets say you learn derivatives and integrals. It'll have you use them in every problem set even if you learned it in the past lessons. Every time you solve the problem on paper, it gets engraved more and more. I'm not saying you have to get a 120 lesson textbook and complete it but you could use the space-repetition strategy. You could do that by reviewing the problem sets or questions in each of your lessons.

I don't know how I can directly help you with calculus but that is something that works for me, especially since I'm not in high school yet. I wouldn't call myself a prodigy, especially since I had no choice but to do the calculus book and all the help I got was when I got a problem or concept wrong, but I think just using the rules that they give you is pretty easy. Also, if I were you I'd make cheat sheets for common derivatives and integrals so that the more you look at it, the more you memorize it. There are some problems that you come across that may have not taught you how to do it but they expect you to apply what you've learned and problem solve until you can get something reasonable.

Math isn't about just memorizing things. It's memorizing and applying things so all you have to do is remember the steps, which can be done by fully writing it down on paper and use it when solving a problem without skipping steps until you've got it in your brain and can do most of it mentally.

Don't feel bad about not being able to do it first try or maybe not wanting to do it since it requires huge determination and responsibility. In fact, you shouldn't feel bad about getting grades that aren't the best if your teachers aren't going to help you. That's literally their job and if they failed their job then your results are their fault, unless like you just weren't paying attention. I don't like math but it's my easiest class because of the space-repetition technique I was forced to do during summer. Anyway I talk too much and can't summarize things so sorry it's long.

Oh I forgot, but idk what general mathematics is tbh cuz I'm only in middle school so idk what it's supposed to be in high school. If it has graphing and stuff then I don't have many tips for that. All I could say is just do what they taught you in the lesson and just like in calculus and algebra 1 and 2, combine the techniques they taught you if it seems necessary. Anyway, I wish you luck with your classes.

Thank you so much :) :)

Of course, also I almost forgot but space-repetition can't be crammed or it won't work very well. It's like someone who practices tossing a basketball 1000 times in one day vs someone who shoots hoops 1000 times but spread it among multiple days. Short term memory gets put in long term memory when you sleep so the person who does it and sleeps more than the other person will have it memorized better.
