How To Deal with Physical Insecurities (4)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2020-10-07 01:45 ID:9AsSUor2 [Del]

I have multiple physical insecurities, but the ones that are major are my big forehead and uneven teeth. I know with money, I can overcome these insecurities, but right now I don't have the money. So, how do I deal with these insecurities now, emotionally?

It’s really unfortunate that things like our physical appearance supposedly hold so much value, both to ourselves and to others. It’s not like we choose our body before being born here, so it really shouldn’t matter or affect how we view one another or anything like that.

In my opinion, you should just try to ignore it. There’s a saying that goes along the lines of this: “those that matter don’t care, and those that care don’t matter” which applies to the flaws about your physical appearance here that you may be concerned with.

Also, I feel like it’s often more ourselves than others. A lot of the time we may think that we have features that stand out or are significant but to others we often just appear normal. Those that see us a lot especially, will care/notice much less than we’d think.

You are right. I did ask friends about how noticeable my insecurities are, and they said they don't even notice, until I mentioned them. And they were kind enough to say I look fine. Actually, I know I am making this a big deal, even though it does not matter. I just can't help it.. It's even weirder, when I am actually considered handsome, based on what people (including strangers) around me say.

Ah, there are a lot of things I could say here. But consideraybe, that you have friends. Right? And you don't think you're good looking. Which means that either they do think you're good looking, or you have friends who like you for who you are, presumably. So, either way, you could consider yourself fortunate! :)
