i never really had a problem with this tbh, i tend to call out everything problematic and i have no problem with cutting off people who are Like That.
but my uncle has recently seperated with his gf of 20 years and is dating someone new and holy
i just met her for the second time and she made such casual racist remarks about refugees (abhorrent remarks about the moria situation) and spoke as if all foreigners are animals (she said she wouldnt have anything against them if they'd "behave")
what is especially shocking to me is my family came here as refugees. my uncle IS a refugee. she is polish. neither of us is native to our country i have no clue where to start or what to do but my uncle seems completely smitten i dont even know what's going on anymore
just for context, she is the complete opposite of his ex gf who we all loved but idk why they separated. he implied it was quite ugly and he went for the opposite kind of person after because it didnt work out with his ex. i kind of ignored everything about her the first time we met because i essentially just lost an aunt without explanation but i dont want to press him.
im sorry im all over the place, this JUST happened.
do you have any advice or experiences on how to deal with this?
