I recently realised that when I’m watching a YouTuber with tourettes, I tend to start copying her. Even when I’m done watching the video I seem to carry on saying and doing things in a way someone with tourettes would, even doing and saying things that she doesn’t. This will usually last for a hour then stop. Can anyone explain this?

I don't think it's something to really worry about. A little different scenario, but I start picking up accents depending on how the people around me talk. I visited relatives in Nigeria and started pronouncing things like they did without realizing it, and this lasted for days after I came back home. I've also picked up a few verbal ticks from friends.

This happens to my sister and a bunch of my friends too. For you, since it's going away after an hour then I'd guess that it's not something to worry, especially if you're young. (By young I mean under like 25? Because brain plasticity decreases with age... Although I'm by no means knowledgeable enough to say for sure if plasticity has anything to do with it, lol. I just haven't seen this happen in my parents or older relatives.)

That's my best guess though. Hopefully someone else will have a better explanation.

Its most likely something normal, as most humans mock each other whether intentionally or not.
But as long as you recognize you dont have the illness and are only mocking her, then you do not have any serious mental or physical disorders.
