I don't know what I should do. I'm getting closer and closer to being 18 (only 6 months) and don't know what to do with my life. I've been "homeschooled" most my life, but when I was still quite young my mother stopped teaching me. I've tried off and on to teach myself over the years only to get nowhere. I've had depression for a long time and the last year it's been even worse. My family doesn't seem to care much. I live in the middle of nowhere with no car, or drivers license, and have no money to get those things. even if I was smart enough to take the GED I don't have the money to do so. I can't stand where I live and want out so bad. I don't feel I can go to any family for help because I've tried before only for it to end in me losing my only friend. I have no one. I can't stand the idea of living here past 18. I'd rather be dead, and I don't think anyone understands that. I'd up and leave if I could, but I only have $30, and like I said before I live in the middle of nowhere with no car. I don't even no where I'd go? I just want out.
Hey...I'm actually in a similar situation. I'll be 18 in little under a year, and I live more around other people, though. In fact, I live in a single room with my dad and brother in some hotel. I sleep less than a yard away from them, and it's been this way for several years. I don't have a lick of privacy. I will probably have to take the GED, too, but I don't feel prepared at all. I'm 'homeschooled', as I've been for the years I've been in this room. I have about 20 bucks to my name, no car, etc. I can't take another year here, I feel like I'm going crazy. We've had many attempts to get out of here, running away and the like, but we always come back. My dad has a mental disorder. I feel so hopeless all the time, the feeling of dread follows me around with no break. I don't have much advice on the situation, because I'm pretty lost in it myself. But just know you're not alone in these kind of difficulties. ^w^ I wish I could give you my email or Kik or something, so we could message more.

It must be difficult, it's sad to see that at such a young age you're already in a this sticky situation...I can try to give my advice, I hope it can help...Maybe you can try to look at MOOC(If you have internet access) and others online formation? Some of them are free and you can gather some skills(programmation maybe?) for beginning your life (finding a job maybe) and when your a bit older and that you've got more money you can perhaps try to make some study?(it's horrible to see that in some countries study have a great cost) I'm sorry to give such an idealist idea, it's probably stupid, but I don't really can think about an other way? I've been studying on my own for quite some time, but not really getting anywhere. Thanks for the advice, though, Elixime ^^ I'm still trying to learn foreign languages and such, in addition to my homeschooling. Hopefully making myself more competitive in some workforces.
Who said you have to "do something" after you finish your school? Just go to more schools. Go out, explore the world. Read on subjects you are interested in. And if there are none, just look for some. Try to make new friends and ask them about their dreams and hobbies. You need some inspiration. Everyone's been there.
