Hey guys so basically it been a month sinve I lost my soccer scholarship .....
So backstory is I got one to play at this university but my parent rejected the idea becaise my friend was going there and we have been friends for 9 years and they think soccer has messed up life and stuff.
So basically a week during preason for the team and went with my friend ( with my parents not knowing) and they found out and told me to quit and I end up transferring back the community college I m attending now. Ever since I lost this scholarship I now I been sleeping more and and only occasional play soccer I really dont know what to do and I'm really depressed about this and was hoping to get your advice on this . what should I do next ?

I think your best chance at a change is to talk to your parents about how important Soccer is to you, and how much you liked this other school (or really whatever it is thats making you upset, obviously its important.) If This has all happened recently, you maybe should wait it out a bit before bringing it up.

Aside from that I'm not entirely sure, try to not lose yourself to long sleeps and inactivity, since it can cause a depressive spiral. Try to be as active socially and physically as you can, and keep up with your studies. I hope things get better, and you're able to play at the university

Your a grown person, you have to do what you think is right. If you still live with your parents it could be harder to convince them...but if you move out, they have no say in what you do

find out how much soccer means to you.
I mean all of it. like how much you love soccer, how much you enjoy playing it. How many hours a day you spent thinking or playing it before you got all depressed about the scholarship.
Now ask yourself, what do your parents think about soccer? Because reality is cruel, and your parents know that the most. soccer may be the sport of your dreams, but it is exceedingly hard for you to get a living off of playing it.
Now weigh.
And see if your love for soccer is enough to look past the disapproval of your parents and a possibly unstable future.
