Onto High School! (2)

Hey there. So, I'm starting High School through online courses and whatnot. Only thing is that I'm 21. Due to an unstable lifestyle, my education was sorta put on the back burner going toward my teen years, so suffice it to say I've never had any tangible school experience. I want to get my life going onward and upward, so I decided to take the plunge back in. Or for the first time, let's be real.

Now for someone in my situation, what's it going to be like? As you can guess I'm the not sharpest tool in the shed, but does this mean it'll be a nightmare? Or just gonna take all my attention and more. I believe I can do it, and I don't feel nervous or anything. Maybe that's just blissful ignorance, but I'll roll with it for now.

But what I wanna ask is stuff like.. How long will it take? How hard will it be, coming from your own experience. What should I do to prepare, look into, etc. I'd love to hear your experiences with it, but also what I should be before going. Guess I coulda just said that. Much appreciated!

How long it will take depends on how much high school credit you already have. If you have already done some high school and passed even one class, that's already a decent amount of time out of how long it would take. But if you haven't passed any high school classes before, it would normally take about 2-4 years, depending on how fast you work and how much you are willing to do at a time. I've never used online schooling before, but I've had friends who have, and they said that it wasn't bad, it was just a bunch of work. That's how it is anyways, so it will be a decent experience ^^

As for what to prepare for, I would make sure that you have a good calculator, especially into your later classes. Some of the later math classes can require graphing calculators, which can run you about $100 depending on the model. However, if you have an Android device with Google Play, I would suggest getting Wabbitemu instead. It is a TI-84 graphing calc rom emulator, so you can use your phone the same way you would a $112 calculator. Also, be prepared to study a little extra outside of your online class, whether it's History, English, Math, Science, or anything else. While the class will teach you the materials you need to pass it, sometimes a little extra studying can improve your experience, making it easier and faster to learn.

I hope that helps out a little ^^
