Unwanted Thoughts... (4)

1 Name: :/ : 2018-04-15 22:53 ID:/mWGEFwe [Del]

On a regular basis I get unwanted thoughts and images popping into my head. Things like being caught in a house fire, a car accident, or a school shooting at my school. I've always experienced this, but I don't really know why. Lately it's been getting a lot worse. I'll be sitting in class and catch myself staring out the window for minutes at time(the most I've ever noticed was around 15) while a terrifying scene plays out in my head. Once I get back into reality I'm usually shaking or sweating. Sometimes people will notice and say my name to try and get me to snap out of it but that only sometimes works. Sometimes I'll write down what I remember which sometimes helps. Does anyone else experience anything else like this or know why I might be experiencing this?

I know exactly what you're going through. I used to go through it constantly.

Maybe it’s daydreaming or maybe your seeing what will happen in the future

I used to experience these, so I can kind of understand what you're going through. I guess you could call it intrusive thoughts. The way to deal with shit like this is to snap yourself out of it somehow. If you catch yourself slipping into that spiral of doom, react instantly. Ground yourself by noticing five things you can see five things you can hear and five things you can feel. Eventually, once you can stop thinking about them you'll be able to block them out completely. If you find yourself panicking and need to calm down, grab an ice cube and hold it in your hands. The shock from the cold will snap you out of the panic. If you're at school, try a cold metal chair or table leg.
