The relationship between me and my dad isn't a bad one but it hasn't been the best for these past few months. My dad and my mom have a really love hate relationship to the point where they don't even live together. My parents aren't married but when I was born, my dad used to live in the same house as me and my mom for a while but he later moved out because the two of them would constantly fight. But even after moving out my dad still shows up at our house during dinner time until now, and sometimes goes out with my mom and I during the weekends. My parents are constantly fighting about little things since I was a little kid and they do still fight until now. I try to not care about it but it has affected me in a lot of ways. I started to notice that this has kind of affected my relationship with them because I don't know how to talk to them or express my feelings to them. I'm a little bit closer to my mom since I live with her and see her every day but there are also certain things that I get along better with my dad. I was closer to my dad when I was a kid but now I don't know where me and my relationship with my dad stands. Recently I went on vacation with my mom for a week and during all this time nor me nor my mom contacted him and my dad got pissed at us and called us ungrateful. I understand why he's pissed and I'm ashamed at the fact that I didn't try to call him or check on him but tbh during that past week I seriously haven't thought about my dad and I don't know why and how to fix this. Its just I don't know how to talk to him and open up to him about my life like I used to before because we've been drifting away these past few years especially now that I am in high school.
What should I do to fix this matter? I'm really lost and I don't know what to do about this :(

If he is your father you just needa open up to him with all your strength and just hang around with him don't needa be lost about just force yourself to find what to do about it.

I completely understand, ive been in a similar situation. The love hate relationship your parents have going on isnt right. they should be together if they truly love each other but if not then they should go find other partners. For you, all you can do is spend as much time with your dad as you can. i know thats kind of an cleche answer but its true. Cause honestly you dont know when he might be gone for good. if you dont do it now your regret it. and if your mom gets pissed off then tell her she can get pissed at me for the idea. hell ill even give you my email. but stay strong ok? i know parent situation can be hard to handle but no matter what you cant give up. i hope it works out. if you'd like to be friends here's my contact info at the bottom.
