How to help myself eat? (8)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2018-01-07 19:54 ID:j7oJiaKg [Del]

I have trouble with eating, and I've identified the things that are making it hard:
1) Loss of appetite causing feelings of nausea while thinking of/eating food
2)Fear of gaining weight makes me afraid of eating too much

Despite the fear of gaining weight, I want to increase my calorie intake because I'm worried about the consequences it's having on my body.
On average I eat around 500 calories a day, my 'High Score' is around 800 since I started counting. Getting it up to the recommended 2000 is a daunting task because every meal feels forced and sickly and I'm not even halfway there yet.

Is there any way to help eliminate the problems making this difficult?

You should take it slow.Who knows maybe over time you might overcome your fear, but most importantly how long has this been happening?

>>2 Thankyou! I really hope I can overcome it. It's been happening for about a year now but It's gotten worse since last month. It was a little bit of a wake up call, I thought not having appetite just meant I didn't need so much food.

I know you don't have an appetite, but your health is by far the most important thing.Force yourself to eat if you have to.If it helps don't think about eating.Think of the people that want to see you in a good and healthy state

>>4 That's a good way to think about it, thanks for sharing it with me. It'll help a lot so I appreciate it!

It seems like you’d be best helped doing the following.
Do NOT. I repeat. NOT. FUCKING. COUNT. YOUR. CALORIES.
Find high calorie and nutrient rich foods like peanut butter and meat so you spend the least amount of effort eating.
Make each time you eat count.

This shit’s serious.
Do what I said and even more importantly see a shrink who specializes in this.
Get help.

talk to a specialist, your mindset is incredibly important for this to happen. At the very least, your school guidance counselor.

-place food in unmarked tupperware containers and throwing away the packages so you cannot count your calories.
-trying to eat with friends, family, or when you're distracted by a tv show
-learn to recognize breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and eat for each one
-while you are trying to gain weight, don't make yourself sick by eating a shitload of food

I've had trouble with my appetite before. If you don't feel like eating food exactly, maybe try smoothies as supplements. Do not replace regular food with a liquid diet altogether, that never goes well. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that stress and an irregular sleep schedule may be affecting your appetite.

It's probably good advice to stop counting, but I feel so anxious about not knowing. I don't really understand why it might help either.
I'll keep in mind everything else! Especially about the smoothies, liquids are much easier to consume. I guess I should see someone about it too. Thankyou both for the help
