I'm sad (5)

It's past 6:00 in the morning here and I haven't gotten to sleep. I was tired earlier but I couldn't get to sleep. And now I'm wide awake and going to sleep feels scary. I'll have to wake up and go to work sleep deprived tomorrow. And then I'll be tired all night but I won't sleep.
I don't even have motivation to spend any of this time doing something.

I've never written or spoke my feelings like this before, so I thought another Dollar might understand.
Even if nobody reads this it feels a bit nicer just to put it down somewhere, you know?

The important thing if you can't sleep is to imagine what you want to do. You may not have motivation to do any of the things in your normal, everyday life, but you can imagine what you truly feel like doing or what would truly make you happy. Giant buckets of cotton candy, going into animeland, whatever. Just keep imagining while laying down, and sooner or later you'll fall asleep and maybe you'll be blessed with a dream that'll restore your motivation ~

Maybe this is what you needed. You got be able to let off some steam and talk things out. Just keep your head up and things will get better, I know it.

I've been having sleeping troubles myself lately. I'm still figuring it out, too, but what I've found helps is to do something.
Tossing and turning or staring at the ceiling is only going to make things worse. You should try to do something you find relaxing or enjoyable, but not too involved mind you, to occupy yourself with until you fall asleep. I usually go for podcasts or Twitch streams.
Also, I remember hearing from someone that in order to sleep well, you should be fully relaxed for about 45 minutes beforehand. Not sure how true that is, but 45 minutes to an hour could be a good time slot to aim for when weighing up how long the activity will last and when would be a good time to do it.
