okay so, this is kinda a long story so get ready for it. I have this friend, let's call him A. Me and A have been friend for almost 2 years now. Till like july he used to date another friend of mine so A was just a friend to me. But, since september, we've been spending a lot more time together. First it was just talking more when going out with friends, then slowly we started talking online too and, until about a week ago we basically talked every day and whenever we went out we were really close. We hugged a lot, sometimes we held hands, always talked to each other. A initiated most of the contact tho, I'm too shy for things like that. I still have no idea if he means something by it or if it's just him being himself, because he IS really touchy. But, this last week something changed. I have no idea what, but whenever I write to him online he gives short replies, sometimes none at all and rarely starts conversations himself. No normally i would take the hint and realize that he doesnt want to talk to me that much anymore and I'd go back to the way we were 2 months ago. But, the thing is, we were out with friends only 3 days ago. And he was acting even closer than usually. He sat really close to me and braided my hair, keep playing with my glasses, told me i smelled good and spent like a good minute just in my neck and like usually we were inseparable. I don't know what to think anymore. I DO like him and I definitely wouldn't mind something more, but if he has no intention of doing anything I don't want to get my hopes up and end up disappointed. What is making him act this way? Should I keep writing to him or give up completely and just talk to him at weekends when we go out? I'm really clueless I've never had to deal with something like this before, pls help
