Look, I'm never the smart person, but with little to no effort I'm able to pass my exams and get average grades. Atleast recently, because in the past, I'm much dumber. So now, how do I get genuinely good grades? I guess, it is obvious huh? Put in the effort!. Well, thats the thing, I'm just physically lazy. But guess what? I do plan and am ambitious. But everything is useless as I'm not practical about it. Well, I suppose I already got my answer.

So why I'm posting this was to ask for additional advice or past experiences regarding this topic. Who knows this can help others? So, happy sharing, I guess.

The best advice I can give you is find a goal.

I used to be really lazy and never did anything outside of class, or even homework for that matter. I did okay until college, which one must put in time outside of class to pass. I dropped out and went back only after I found what I wanted to do in life. I wanted, and still want, to design computer chips.

After I had a career and life goal I started to do way more work for my courses. If it wasn't for that I would still not have the motivation to go back to school. In my studies I added to this goal as well. But the first thing you have to find out for yourself is what interests you.

Where do you see yourself later in life? What job could you see yourself liking? What are the steps to getting that job/career? Not all careers require school, but a lot of them do. It all depends on what you want out of life and what you want to do.

I agree. Well, I guess I'm just the worst case of laziness because I have a goal. Well, I suppose if I can kill this laziness somehow, I could achieve things, good things. I guess I just have to work hard to work hard. But still, laziness do come in handy as a form of efficiency or innovation. I guess all I need to do is to be able to get myself to work. Thats it.

If you have a goal it isn't a true goal, since it isn't motivating you. I can tell you that I was way more lazy than you academically in the past.

You need to find yourself and find your purpose in life. It is a lot easier said than done too. I feel like I found my purpose in life and my goals parallel it. Before I had some minor goals, but never really thought much of them.

What are your hobbies? What careers are associated with said hobby? What is the education requirement for those careers? Are you really interested in pursuing a field with that hobby?

Not all careers require education, it all depends on what you, yourself, want to do.

Alright. I will be in a quest to find that goal then. I suppose, I already did, but its too vague. I'll see how things work out for me. Thanks.

I'm sorry if I sound rude or condescending, but I was in your position. I failed almost all of my courses during my first attempt at college. I had minor goals, like get good grades, get a career, etc. Yet I was half assed about it, since I never thought of the necessary steps to achieve them. So I dropped out.

I finally went back after I found a purpose in my life, and my true goals were then formed. Getting good grades is still a subgoal of mine, but the knowledge and the degree is a bigger one.

Most people struggle finding their purpose in life and no one can tell them what it is. Your purpose might not be found with asking yourself about a career in the future. Everyone is different, but the first step for me was asking questions about myself and what I wanted to do/be. That led me to notice and pay more attention to the things I did in my free time. Doing so helped me formulate a career path.

True goals are formed after you find your purpose in life. If you can't answer what your purpose is then you should start there, and not the goals.

Again school isn't always required for a career, it depends on what you want to do.
