So i was wondering, does anyone out have an alter ego of some sort that they use to take their emotional problems out on. Such as an imaginary sort of character? Or am i just weird like that?

All people wear some kind of mask to cover their reality

I definitely have an imaginary character, which I use to hide my weaknesses. I would agree with >>2 that everybody has his/her mask.

Like in art play, actors to become character must apply the mask. They are making other poeple of us. Your mask is just strong enough to cover your weaknesses, and i guess its really hard to see through it.

Weird is a matter of perspective. Just like normal. Just my 2 cents

i think im better then everyone else so im not the depressed little piece of shit that i actually am, but a lesson on the term weird, weird is not normal, but normal is personal to everyone, its just what they are used too, so normal for me is watching anime, but normal for another guy could be playiing football, and we would think of each other as weird because we are not used to doing what the other does

Everyone has a persona
Their true self
Some peoples are prominent then others
All personas can change,

I have fantasies about being a badass livig on an island, with an awesome leather jacket, armored man of war, big island with a palace on it, beautiful wife, huge armory of weapons and amazing fighting skills, to escape everyday life. Does that count?

>>10 I´d say it counts.

When I was younger I lived in a rather dangerous area, nevertheless was often out when it was dark. Everytime I went along the dark streets all alone, I imagined myself having some supernatural power, with which I could fight my enemies. I already started believing in my strenght and when two wannabe-gangster wanted to steal my bag, I shouted weird magical spells at them in a language I had invented by myself (a mixture out of classical Latin and nonesense). They might have thought I´d be retarded, yet they fled without my bag.

I sort of understand where you're coming from. Personally, when I'm upset, I do imagine myself as someone else, an 'alter-ego' or 'persona' (whichever you prefer to call it).
