Should I hit the reset? (3)

I'm incapable of making friends not only that but I also don't have an urge to make them. I have a few friends at the moment but they just seem to hate me every time I say something I'm ignored so much so that I can't even have a regular conversation with other people because everyone tunes me out.

I've convinced myself that everytime that this happens my friends are probably upset with something I did or said, but I know they just hate me.

I have one best friend who I've known for a long time, he's basically the most obvious person in our group and is always trying to be the centre of attention, I've always stuck around him because he's sociable and makes friends for me only problem is those 'friends' of his only like him because he's basically a shield to them and they only like me because If they didn't they think that he wouldn't like them.

Only problem is they've figured out that isn't true and that my 'best friend' would throw me under the bus anytime any day.

I'm three years into high school now and I was thinking about leaving those friends and finding new ones but since I'm so far into school social circles have already been made and so it is extremely hard for somoeone like me who is lacking in social skills to join those groups

Should I try for new friends and restart from scrap or stick it out for the rest of school

hey!! hope everything gets better, dont give up, try being more open minded, make friends with people of different cliques/grade levels. At this age most high school ppl only think of themself and are often selfish, i promise it will get better in college, its a development thing where they become less interested in themselves or what they want. you dont have to leave your friend group to make more, when i was a freshman my best friend was a senior in band with me. try joining different things. If your friends are being mean or abusive to you of course you should drop them, you dont need extra drama on your plate, but if thats how you feel maybe call them out? in a nice way. hope this helps ,i am rooting for you!!

Join an activity, preferably a "fringe" activity that isn't too popular or has a small group size (marching band, drama club, etc.) You don't have to necessarily drop your old friends either, just have a chance to make new friends and have fun.
