My Origin State (5)

Ever since I moved to South Carolina from Ohio around 3, almost 4, years ago I wanted to move back there. Most of my family is up there, and I have asked my parents if they could send me back to Ohio multiple times, but they've dismissed my request every time. They say that there is nothing up there for me, but I don't feel that is true. I was in fifth grade when I heard about it, and I denied it until the day we moved. We moved because my father's workplace, a Verizon call center, had closed because the owners of the building didn't want to rent it out anymore. We had a few options, move to Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida where there were other call centers that my dad would be guaranteed the same position. He discussed it with my mom and they ended up choosing the call center in Charleston, SC. To this day my desire to return north grows, and with it depression. The only thing that I can think of that will get rid of both things, is going back. My parents have no idea of these emotions I feel. If I were to tell them they'd say it is all in my head when it isn't, so why should I tell them. I pray to god every day now to change their mind and send me back. I have been trying to think of things I can do to prove to them that Ohio means a lot to me and that i need to go back. I don't know which relative I'd live with, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I made a list of over a hundred reasons to go back, some childish, some realistic. I tried to write an essay on why i should go back...key word being tried. Anyway this is going on too long. I just want to get back to all of my old friends and family in the Austintown, Mineral Ridge, and Lake Milton areas of Ohio. I'm sorry that was a bit specific, but I feel that it needed to be said. If you have any ideas on what I can do to convince my parents to send me back please comment.

So Mac, I get it.
You left Ohio.
It's a great state, you have family there, friends there, all kinds of memories, the works.

I was in the same situation at one point.
And let me tell you, you don't just go back. I actually managed to get back in easy driving distance of all my relatives and it just wasn't the same.
It might be different for you but I'm just giving my 2 cents.

I also have to point out that judging by your post getting a job and an apartment will be a pain in the butt due to age constraints, and I doubt you would want to just up and ditch your parents for your grandparents or aunts/uncles.

Either way though, best of luck to you.

I probably should've made it a bit more clear, but I am in no way fit to drive back. I'm not old enough for a licence or to even apply for a job. That is one thing about this that is hard. Another thing is that I am about to go into highschool, and I have more enemies than I can count down here. I barely have communication with my friends up north. I need to get back to everyone up there.

A friend from Ohio is kind of counseling me and giving me advice on what I should do. It is helping out a lot, and I'm going to confront my parents about EVERYTHING tonight if I get the chance.

If that's the case mac then I really don't know what to tell you other than you're just gonna cause more trouble than you'll fix.

But as always, best of luck and I hope it goes well.
