Desire for Political Acceptance (8)

I kinda want to find out what people are thinking about the 2016 election. I already posted a little bit on the Societal Rebellion Thread but I felt it more appropriate to post stuff here.

This is my post from the Societal Rebellion Thread-

I feel like I'm in the minority. All of my friends are telling me all the time that D.J.T is a racist but I don't believe it. I want to believe it just so I can be like them, but I met the guy and he was nice to my whole friend group even tough I'm Jewish, my best friend is too, and the rest of our friend group is African American or Asian. He bought us sodas and was a complete gentleman. I want to be part of the majority so I can get a GF and so I can move up in life but, everyone even if they don't support HC, thinks I'm a horrible person for not hating him.Even more recently I saw on the news an old man got shot because he was wearing a DJT support cap. I fear for my life now. I just want to fit in with everyone else.

Can anyone relate?

>>2 dude the only people who know that you like him are your friends an family, unless you go round advertising you like/support him on a T-shirt or hat not one will know, so the likely hood of someone is out to get you is almost 0%, so there is no need to worry.

>>4 agree w/ this. As long as you're not advertising it (through social media, too), you don't have to really worry. However, if you do advertise it, do not worry either. That's your opinion and if you want to do that, go for it. It can be risky, but not doing it when you want to is how you let ppl who want to silence other opinions win.

You shouldn't have to change your view to be accepted. If ppl actually like you, they won't care what your view is. Most of my school mates are totally anti-Trump, but it's clear through what I write for my school newspaper that I am a supporter and no one has treated me different (at least to my face).

" I want to be part of the majority so I can get a GF and so I can move up in life but, everyone even if they don't support HC, thinks I'm a horrible person for not hating him."

1) There are plenty of women who support him or are smart enough to realize everyone has different opinions, you'll get a GF who supports him or isn't against ppl who do. 2) this is a tricky one (I have felt this way, too), and it shouldn't be this way, but if you're confident about your views or just don't advertise them as said earlier, then you should be fine and can definitely move up in life. 3) Srsly don't worry about that and don't hate him b/c others tell you, too. That's not the kind of mindset you want.

Thanks for the help. I'm glad to see there are people like me, and that I'm not lost in life just cause of my views on the man.
