I'm simply bored. (14)

I'm not sure myself, but lately it seems as if nothing makes my heart race. Everything is just dull and boring.

Unfortunately I don't like this constant feeling of neutrality. I've tried everything I could think up to make things interesting and nothing. Even the sports I participated in and enjoyed last year hold no interest for me.

Now i'm not a doctor but I don't think this sort of numbness should be normal in a 17 year-old.

Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

Yeh, I've been feeling the same for quite some time now. I would say go to a theme park with a friend but I suspect you're looking for a solution that doesn't involve spending money and one that you can do at home. If you like i could look further into this and help you out, anything for a fellow dollar ;)

A relationship maybe. Sometimes you have to find someone to give you a reason for that spark to grow.

Thanks for the ideas I'll probably go hit up the local amusement park later and see if that helps at all, I'm currently preoccupied with looking up new ideas for hobbies.

>>5 A hobby sounds great for you at the moment. My guess is that you're just extremely bored so your brain needs some sort of extra stimulation. I was also in the same rut as you, so I personally started finding the excitement in all the seemingly mundane and little things ^^

Something I like to keep in mind is the phrase "You're not bored. You're boring." It helps get the motivation to look for something new and interesting.

I definitely suggest finding a different hobby. If the current one's not working out for you, find a new one! Try out different things and you'll never know, maybe you'll end up liking it.

Just don't overdo it to the point that it destroys you, mentally and physically.

If you're anything like me, it might be a case of depression. I'm not a doctor either so take what I say with a grain of salt but that could be it. I've had depression for years and people with depression tend to feel apathetic or unmoving and they tend to lose interest in things. I'm speaking from personal experience as well as from others that I know. If you're not sure you might want to google depression symptoms to see if they apply to you.

I'm only telling you this on the chance that you might have it so that it doesn't go put of control like it did with me. I'm undergoing treatment though and i'm feeling a lot better in many areas.

Is there anything deep down bothering you?

>>11 not that I know of.

>>10 Perhaps I'd have to research it and then see a doctor about getting antidepressants since I am not a psychiatrist I cannot diagnose myself. Though my human's mother does say I exhibit signs of sociopath but shes not licensed either.

Antidepressants are the worst thing ! It's useless. Meet new people, your friends, try new activities... it will maybe help you.
