For The Past 3 Years, I've Been Extremely Depressed and I Have Been Considering Suicide. I Have Committed Self Harm, and I Wanted Some Advice On How To Deal With This.

2. Determine the kind of help available to you and which one you would be most comfortable with. I highly recommend a counselor, if not a health professional, for safety and confidentiality concerns. They know how to deal with situations like yours.

3. Recognize what "triggers" you to commit self harm and list any source of stress you might be experiencing. Enlist the help of someone you trust to monitor your mood and maintain rationality in your actions (if possible).

4. Know that your situation can be dealt with in a constructive way and that all your concerns are valid.

I have also struggled with this. What I find helpful is to test myself to see how long I can go without harming myself. Also if you can find someone close to you that would be willing to help, have them monitor how you are doing everyday.
