To preface this, I gotta thank FyreWall for his inspiration and support. For all the gallows humor and wisecracks that come from me, you've been an amazing friend to me.

These past few years have consisted of me being nothing short of depressed with no purpose. I've done a lot.

Sure, went to a writing college where the 3/8ths of the people who applied got accepted.

Sure, shook hands with General Patreus.

Joined a screenwriting group that thinks I'm out of my league and insane.

Great, finished writing the first season of my series with the help of some friends.

Learned so much from different people. I've become a different person in comparison to the scared kid I was years previous.

Yet, it's not enough. I've wanted more. I see the characters I write, the people I make- They're representations of what I *want* to be.

Two years ago, if you asked me if the military was an option, I'd laugh at you, call you a retard, and would've thought you were half senile.

Turns out there was light at the end of the tunnel.

The Air Force rolled out the expansion of medical waivers for enlistment, meaning that my chances of getting in are 10x better than they were those two years ago.

I feel like I have a purpose now, a reason to keep fighting against the tyranny that California has revealed itself to me.
