There's this issue I have..this guy keeps saying he wants to date me and hitting on me...but he is related to one of my friends and he's like "I could get her permission" but it's not only that he has the same name as my little brother so I'm not sure if it'd be okay to date him...I'm sure my family would pick on me a lot about it...however he's sweet, doesn't let me be stubborn, he cuddled me today saying "now you know what it feels like to be cuddled", he also got out of bed early so he could hangout with me and said that was his only reason. As well as having ambition which to me is really good and he's basically perfect unlike my last relationship..but dating a friends sibling or someone with the same name as your brother...is that even okay?

Something being "okay" is not an objective thing. The only thing about this being okay is whether you two are okay with it. If you ask me it is okay tho. If you are uncomfortable with his name, you can use a nickname.

If you like him and want to give it a shot i say go for it. If he's your friend's brother, that's fine, that could actually work to your advantage in some situations. like Akako said before me, a nickname is always an option.
If you like him you should go for it, he seems like a really sweet guy and seems to care about you a lot.

If you like him that's all that matters. Don't worry about what other people think, they can be bitter while you're happy!

If he make you happy do it, p.s if you dont like the name, give him a nick name, i know your feel.
