I'm applying for a school, and it's very important to me that I get in. However, I need to take an enterance exam to get in. This requires me to study- something I've never done before. I have a little under a week to get my act together, as it's Tuesday and the test will be on Thursday on literacy and numeracy. Anyone still in school or college, can you suggest study methods? Thanks!

Since you've started very late it's going to be very hard but let me try... first, make a plan how much you have to learn and then break it down to basics and advanced stuff. First make learning sessions with the basics (for about an hour, then 15 minute break, then checking out if you remember everything (take the time you need for that)) then write down what is still difficult to you and start doing the next worksheet if and repeat it all once again. I'd say, you have about 2 days for that. It's important to know the basics to understand the advanced stuff. Then do the advanced stuff the same way (3 days) (1 hour learning, 15 minute break). Since you’ve started late I'd say learn this way at least 4 to 5 hours per day (3 or 4 leaning, 1 hour of 15 minute breaks). Then, at the end of the day, revisit everything you've done so far to see if there is anything that you have forgotten already. Use the last day for mixed exercises of all difficulties and possible questions. It’s important to learn what certain words mean and what is asked of you. If you can't do one advanced part at the end of the week because you don't get it leave it with the basics and concentrate on the other parts of your study work to master them. You do not have a choice besides working very hard now if you really want to have a chance at getting in. And start studying regularly so that you don’t get those fucking problems that you could have easily prevented if you had spent 1 or 2 hours with learning the weeks before so you'd only have to read it all once more to remember it.

That's how you could do speed leraning. In your case you'll have to speed up a little I guess.
