I need to get this off my chest. (7)

Alright. So I'm good friends with this person, and we both like to draw. It probably sounds petty, but they get way more recognition for what they draw, despite the fact that they don't try hard, the proportions are constantly off and I know for a fact I'm actually better, and I could even provide an example to prove it. I don't understand why people admire what they draw, despite how bad it is and how much harder I try and how much better I draw. Very recently, they only actually over-shaded it, and still got praised, despite the fact I drew something that looked better and wasn't even finished yet. This probably sounds petty and I sound bitter and jealous, but I just don't understand it.

Does the people who praise them know that you draw as well? A reason for the people to praise them might be because they are not well informed about drawing and were just motivating the person to keep drawing. I'd also like to ask how you got the idea that they were not trying hard at all.

Maybe, what they draw is more interesting.
And if you draw well, do you try to outperform ? To test and learn new things ?
Maybe they're innovative too.

Could you provide an example? I'm kinda curious as to what you mean when you say you are better.

I know it can be annoying but I would suggest not getting too hung up over it. And there's nothing wrong with feeling jealous either. It's just an emotion so you can't help it, and everyone gets jealous. But I'm sure that there will be others who like your drawings. Also, those people who like your friend's drawings could just have a personal taste to it. Often times with art people don't necessarily like what might be objectively better, more than something that just suits their own personal preference. Some people will like your drawings, and some people will like your friend's drawings.

I'm kinda curious too how yours is different from your friend's drawing. If you want, post the two photos here but don't tell which your drawing is :3

I do not have an example of their work, just mine. It is watermarked, so ignore that.
