I don't know whats going on (6)

I've been hearing voices in my head for a couple of years now and they are each identifiable and unique, they're like real people but in my head. A week ago they suddenly stopped talking and my head felt completely empty. After about five days of silence, they started talking again and more than ever. I thought nothing of it, but when my sister came over for a visit she said I seemed much happier. I was confused by this, but now I know what she meant.

I can't seem to stop smiling. And when I force a frown it feels uncomfortable.

The stuff that they talk about is regular conversational topics, like school, friends, enemies stuff like that. I wouldn't have thought about it to much but frankly, I don't know what's going on. And I don't know why I can't stop smiling. It's seriously creeping me out.

I guess the reason I'm posting this is because I'm looking for some advice or better yet an explanation because I am starting to get quite concerned over this.

Hello Friend
I am a celestial psychologist. I believe you are dealing with spirits. Since they are immortal they get bored and talk or interact with humans. If you would like anymore information feel free to post on my thread about celestial psychology!

Firstly, because someone is sure to mention it at some point, I won't personally say that there is any psychological disorder going on here.
Unless the voices in your head and your uncontrollable smile are causing you immense distress and/or severely impacting you ability to function daily, we can safely say that your situation is not dire and you can stress a little less.

Given the little information you provided (and no knowledge of your family medical history), we can narrow them down to a few possibility:
1. It is reflexive and there might be something physiological/psychological happening that might be prompting you to do so unconsciously. You might be mimicking someone during a conversation without knowing (doing so has its benefits in conversations). Perhaps you have developed a habit? Consciously smiling also reduces stress, so perhaps your discomfort with frowning stems from there.

2. The beginning of a neurological disorder, like Bell's Palsy. I don't think this explanation is likely, but it doesn't hurt to know about it.

My suggestion is to take note of these things, how frequently they occur, if they are giving you trouble, and consider seeking some sort of help if they persist for a month or longer. In the meanwhile, perhaps changing your living habits and eliminating stress might help reduce their frequency, or at least unburden your mind.

Good luck

>>3 Thanks for this, I was freaking out thinking that I may be going insane or something. I have Bipolar on my father's side and Schizophrenia on my mother's. Hopefully I don't have either and this is just temporary. Thanks!

Well your smiling probably because you know now that they are talking constantly with you, so you know your never alone!

Without trying to imply anything, schizophrenia seems like a likely explanation, in fact I had it on my list of suspects before reading about your parents.
Either way, since you obviously have and still are functioning well in your daily life and its not causing you any distress, I dont see any prompt to really do anything about it, however I would advise you to see a psychiatrist, simply to have a second and professional opinion and get a bit more information on whats going on. After that you can still decide to do or not do anything about it in terms of medication, though from what you said so far you probably wont and I would probably decide the same.
At least none of the voices is humming the melody of Tetris!
