I need help i don't know what to do. I might have a thought disorder and i keep thinking of hurting myself or my family. I already tried to kill them once and almost put my father in jail. I really don't want to hurt them so what should i do prevent hurting anyone?

Turn yourself in. Get some counseling if you're really serious about it. Make amends with yourself as much as them and know that while not only what you're thinking is morally frowned upon, you need to think for yourself that this isn't something you want to do.

1. Recognize that you need help [DONE]

2. Identify/write down the common things present when you are feeling the need to hurt people. What situation leads to that desire? Note their frequency and what would make them worst/better. If you are completely confused, just write down what happens each day.

3. Seek an authority figure, preferably with professional counseling experience, who you'd trust or be willing to speak to about your issue.

4. In between steps 2 and 3, consider having someone check on you periodically to make sure that neither you nor anyone close to you are hurt, and how the thoughts are evolving.

5. Review your habits (diet, exercise and stress management). Slowly improve some of them at a time (there is always room for improvement). Doing so might keep your mind busy and improve your ability to control your thoughts/actions.

6. Be confident that you can work this through.
