The reason that I'm in the situation I'm in is kind of a long story, but I'll try to explain as best as I can.

The thing is after school, my friend and I would go and walk to the woods and hang out there until our parents arrived to pick us up.

Recently though, my friend's parent has been picking them up earlier and we aren't able to really go to the woods anymore. So then because of that my friend wrote a note and I was supposed to tape it to this tree in the woods so that one day when we were able to go there together again I would finally get a chance to read it. It was supposed to be like something to look forward to, you know?

But that isn't what the problem is. It started when I decided to tape the note to the tree after my debate practice (I'm in debate club btw) but on my way to the woods I saw some members from my debate team walking in front of me. I was going to say hi, but I realized I would've looked really weird/suspicious because I was walking behind them and carrying tape as well as the fact that I suck at social situations.

I feel like if I had just said hi and explained the situation it would've been okay, but I didn't and now I kind of want to curl up in a ball and die.

Anyways, I looked for a place to hide because I didn't want them to think I was a creepy stalker person, but I realized there was literally just a giant open space and I wouldn't be able to get anywhere without them noticing me.

Then, they spotted me but before they could say anything I freaked out and held my phone up to my ear and turned in the opposite direction and pretended like I was talking to someone. After 30 seconds of this I turned around and saw them walking away so I turned and sprinted back to the school...

I now feel really awkward about the whole thing and I don't really know how to explain this to my debate team, and I feel really dumb now because I'm going to have to go back to the woods again because I didn't tape the note the first time and I don't want to run into them again and I just don't know how to make this normal.

Any advice would be appreciated. Very VERY appreciated.
