Anxiety (3)

Hello,
I am currently a senior in college and I have been struggling with some anxiety for the past two an a half years. It started of with a lab in chemistry where I was out of my element and suddenly my hands began to shake. prior to this I had always prided myself on my ability to do things precisely so this was unexpected and it really bothered me. After this event I was more aware of the shaking until it slowly became a regular thing in labs specifically labs that require the use of small vials, pipettes and the like.I kept telling myself its just a temporary confidence issue and its ok to feel nervous in lab. I know the shaking is a normal response to anxiety But the shaking has become more prevalent over time, its always in the back of my mind and it has taken a blow to my self confidence. I always worry about other people seeing it and it has made me consider dropping out of college and changing my chosen career because I feel I may not be able to do it. This problem only seems to occur at college during classes where I have to do chemistry type labs. Recently I started my second to last semester and I am in a microbiology lab this requires good technique and precision type actions and I basically lost it and shook during my second lab. If anyone has experience with having shaky hands you would know how dehumanizing, embarrassing and almost scary it can be. I felt so embarrassed and I almost dropped the class but then I realized that its only one class, im almost done with school and I need to push through somehow. I recently started taking Calms Forte and rescue remedy pastilles to help calm me but the shaking can still occur. I have my second lab tomorrow and I am very nervous for it. Has anyone experienced shaky hands from nervousness and if you have can you please give me some advice to help? I have also tried deep breathing, lavender oil, and chamomile tea. If you can help in any way I would appreciate it.

I want to first point out that you are searching for outside solutions to an inside problem.

Its great that you have decided to push through it, so lets see if we can't put this anxiety to rest. I would like to ask a few questions, and hopefully will respond to your answers promptly. Please be as specific as possible with your answers, and pay attention to the wording of my questions as you think of the answers. Also please answer them in such a way that I can respond to each answer separately.

If you would prefer to answer these questions privately, you can email me at omverse.dollars@gmail.com

What is your thought process before attending the class? During the class? After a class?

What is your thought process before the hand shakes start? During the shaking? After the shaking subsides?

What is the ultimate goal you are trying to reach?

If you could place a pin on a number between 1 and 100 which represented the progress you've made towards this goal, where would you place it?

Have you ever had this extreme or more extreme symptoms of anxiety in the past?

Who are you attending college for?

Two and a half years ago, when you started noticing this anxiety, was it sudden and overwhelming, or was the intensity gradual?

What happened two and a half years ago, that, although may subjectively seem unrelated, could have seeded a sense of failure or a bruised ego?

The problem is that you lose your pride find a way to get it back, you said this in the 3rd sentence prior to you is your pride. Try forgetting about the people around you stop thinking if people see you shaking or failing you'll be discriminated. And just focus about what you want to do. If possible get back your pride
