Recently ive been thinking about auditioning for a scholarship at a school that specializes in music and theatre arts. But im not sure if my parents will let me go because it is in a different country and I am only 13. I also dont know if they approve of the idea of me having a future career in the music industry. My sister has also recently left for college so im not sure if they are comfortable with both of their children leaving.

Im not sure how I should tell my parents this. I also feel bad since I would only be able too see them 1-2 times a year if I get in and im starting to doubt if I could actually get in since there are other great music prodigies that are probably a lot better than me :(

I know that feel bro. I'm currently working towards a music career myself even though I am a part of a family of doctors, teachers, and other generic jobs. Just sit down with your parents and straight up talk to them about it. My career choice doesn't sit that well with my father, but you will find that as you grow older you do more things that you want to do in life. College is essentially your first big descision leading into adulthood. Just do what you want to with your life when it comes to career opportunities. Also, don't worry about how good everyone else is. Focus on you and your own abilities and use others abilities as inspiration to get better. Best of luck.
