I feel like a lot of people have been going through some seriously rough times.

Here in "personal" there's always a bleak feeling and maybe it's needed... But I don't believe a little positivity will kill anyone. Right?

So what's something GOOD or HAPPY that's happened today? There's ALWAYS something good.

I'm headed in to day 2 of my new job and I'm having a really good time.

This thread is so cool! ^^ The happy thing that happened today is when i was sick going to school, and people helped me while i was on the bus :)

Trying to lose weight and just finished my two-hour walk for the third day in a row. Not a big accomplishment, but you have to start somewhere. Also posted some of those "take what you need" fliers mentioned on the missions board while I was out. Feeling pretty good about it. ^_^

A lot of my internet surfing is just me looking up random self-help stuff when I'm bored. I don't know why, but I just like reading that stuff. I don't necessarily apply it in my life. Sometimes I do find something I like and I try it for a while to see if it actually works for me, but for the most part it's just something I read to pass the time lol. Just another thing I do in my free time, like: my anime watching, manga reading, and AMV watching, as well as my YouTube surfing, Reddit searching, and my time spent using the Dollar's site as well as other sites for interesting things.

If you thought school was hard as a student just try to imagine the rollercoaster ride you'd be going through everyday as a teacher. I had a cool day :) Lot's of good things happened. Like I had ice cream and went to the fair with my friends :)

I went to the beach yesterday with many acquaintances and friends. We played volleyball and frisbee. It was a good day.

I had a good day hung out with my friends went to queen City ex with them it was awesome I do wish we can do it again. Maybe next year

i was sad and down because i lost my self-esteem and start to think that i don`t look good at all, but everything changed when i found someone who actully liked how i look like and hearing that and remambering that just make me really happy and confident.

work was awful- we were sadly understaffed, busier than a normal monday, and everyone was just generally in a bad mood, workers and customers alike.
but when i got home, i started reading the original stories post people post online, the ones they claim are true or the most vivid descriptions of their own made up worlds, and it was amazing. these pieces could rival any published book in style and creativity, and to take a step into someone else's imgaination can make any bad day great! Honestly, people have some awesome things to contribute and it never ceases to amaze me the ideas they can create

This is so lame but in band camp today we were working on our ballad for the show and because I had little to no parts in it, I just played on my phone for half of the day. (that and we were inside most of the time instead of outside in the sweltering heat ^^)

I got to talk to my boyfriend today and I went for a five mile walk/jog, but that's basically it. I love the idea for this thread btw :))

Let's start with a quick bad story.
My father had a stroke last year. I thought I was going to lose him. I took care of him for 5 months. It was hard and frustrating. But we made it.

My dad is working. I moved back out. We are moving forward. I am more than happy, thrilled, fantastic.
The fact that he survived and regained movement, is the best memory I have. My best moment ever.

I got a 24 pack of my favourite flavour noodles. Not particularly exciting to most but it makes me really happy so thought I'd share.

I have this friend. she's an ex-girlfriend but we still talk. she was having some problems with a guy she was seeing and having a tough time moving on from it. I stayed up with her until 2am trying to console her. after 3 hours I finally was able to get her to cheer up! I'm usually never able to cheer her up so finally being able to put her in a better mood is definately a step forward!I'm proud i was finally able to help her for once.

Today I reconnected with an old friend.

We have both grown quite a bit since we have last spoken. It good to be able to share the same love for each other that we had years ago. A lot changes, but some things never do.

Today I found out I'm obsessed with fire. Burning multiple books has made me not just a pyro, but a very happy camper.

I finally get to see my pet tortoise. I haven't saw in her in 3 day :3 she's been with my dad for a bit. :D

I found a new friend in an online conversation. It was nice and kinda funny. And I'm in the academic class now and I feel so proud of myself. I may be not good at some stuff but I'll try learning them. I also had a dark chocolate today and it was good!

My dad finally came home to cook dinner for my family and help around the house.

I saw some old friends that i haven't seen in months and I guess that was nice

To be honest, a lot of shit has happened in the past two years. I've been a dollars member for an estimated total of five-to-six years. Been off and on because life seems to like getting stuck between a hard place and a rock. Three years ago, my modelling career came to a halt because no source of income to fund my modelling expenses and agency. A year after that, I failed to enter the military because of a heart defect. A week after that, my mother kicked me out for her boyfriend. It's been two years since then, two years since I've seen the youngest two of my three little brothers. There's been some rare ups, but for the most part it's been a struggling life. But this year, the best thing happened to me in YEARS. The last time I've seen the oldest of my three brothers (who lives with his dad instead of our mother) was about the same time I joined the Dollars. Five to six years ago. This year, a day before the Fourth of July, he and I were reunited. I'm still jobless, without a car, without a license, and without insurance

But being reunited with my first of little brothers after such a long time and great distance means the world for me. The world isn't as bad as it looks.

Yesterday my grandma called saying she wanted so see me again. We talked for a while before I handed the phone over to my little brother. Anyways the point is that she doesn't blame us for what happened to my father. Before she didn't care to hear our side of the story, but now things are looking up. Though my mom doesn't trust her or my uncle for all the things they've done. She thinks that if I'm around her for too long then I'll have an anxiety attack. When I get those it's kinda like I'm having a seizure, but has nothing to do with my physical brain, just my state of mind.

After my constant begging she's finally letting me go. She even bought me a nice phone so I can be safe.

Things do look up, but just not in the way you think it will, but no matter what you get you can't be picky. Otherwise you'll eventually loose all opportunities.

I am simply, happy.

My and my friends hung out and I haven't seen them in about 2 months cause I moved. But wow, seeing them again was amazing. And I'll see then again tomorrow.

My friend who I've had a huge crush on for about a year just confessed to me today! I am really happy and I hope everything works out between us.

I finally got a chill day from my super busy schedule. Chill day well spent

I'm sad, but realized I know that I can be happy if I want to be.

I went to watch a movie, and secretly with a friend....hehehehehe

I got my hair cut just above my shoulders yesterday on impulse (by far the shortest it's been in forever). After receiving negative feedback on how it looked from a close friend, I wasn't feeling great about it.

But today, as I was heading back to work after my lunch break, two random ladies complimented me on my hair and nails, and we chatted briefly. That had almost never happened previously. I have to admit, I beamed a little. Nothing but positive vibes about the whole decision now.

Today I walked my dogs early in the morning right at dawn and I always take a flashlight. There came one point in the walk where there were plenty of trees overhanging the sidewalk and being the fall season it is, I was looking out for spiders. On my way back through that same road, I got to the same place when I noticed there was a jogger who was behind me and as she was about to pass me she nearly ran into a spider if it wasn't for my dog barking and myself directing the light at the phantom spiderweb that appeared before me. I quickly warned the jogger and she thanked me and we got to talking about dogs and how they have a sixth sense and then she went on her way. I normally don't have many interactions with strangers but I'm glad I did this time and I'm surprised that I managed to gather up the courage in time to warn her. In short, it's the little achievements that help prove that I'm on the right path to self improvement.

It's the seventh day of school and I'm still alive.

Getting an answer from my crush! Seems cheesy and it probably won't matter to me in the future, but it just feels nice to have an answer.

Things have been a little weird lately, but over all I know it's all gonna work out. I hang out with a small group of friends every now and then and it's nice.

I finally had a job interview and it sounded like I got hired so once that happen celebration. I'm definitely going to work hard and strong because I want to be a doctor. Helping mentally ill kids sounds like a good beginning to me.

I went and visited with my grandma, aunt, uncle, and baby cousin.

When my cousin wasn't even 1, my grandma took her to the doctor because her poo was coming out white. Initially they sent her back and disregarded the issue, but one doctor examined my cousin closer, and found a major problem. To solve that problem, my cousin would need a liver transplant. So much drama followed. We couldn't find her a liver, her parents weren't healthy enough to donate. My dad stepped forward as a donor before talking it over with my mom and the whole thing became a huge mess.

Zoom forward a year. The doctors told us my cousin would die in 2 months if we couldn't find her a liver. My aunt and uncle, especially my aunt, were becoming even more despaired by the day. They flew in and out of Toronto, looking for a liver. And it finally came. An anonymous live donor gave their liver and saved my cousin's life. An anonymous live donor...you don't get many of those. My cousin got the liver and she lived.

Now she's almost three, and running around like a child her age should. I'm so blessed she's still running and kicking, and there's my happy moment of the day.

Today I... I don't know, it was just a normal day.

It was name your price day at 7/11... everyone around me was giving $0.50 for their slurpies, and I gave a dollar. The cashier lady assumed that I wanted my change back, and when I told her to just keep it she gave me the most refreshing smile I've seen in the past week.

I played an online game with my friend today and we discovered new areas. Lots of beautiful scenery.

I watched Fight Club for the first time today.. after some hours to let the plot stew, and a terribly grindy day at work... i have come to the conclusion that it's one of the best films i have ever seen ever!

I got to join in a D&D dungeon crawl (world's largest dungeon), me and my buddy managed to go the only direction that would lead us to combat and almost died, my buddy also closed a door on me, leaving me to fend for myself. It was hilarious. Oh, and I get to play a in a Pathfinder game I'm really enjoying later tonight, we drew names from a hat and made whoever we drew as character, the person we drew basically ends up playing themself, only slightly more silly. I've ended up as a rakshasa-spawn tiefling ninja (who also casts spells) that is disliked by animals & magic beasts and has a phobia of dogs.

My friend finally contributed a tiny bit on a group project, despite the fact that he`s drowning in his own homework.

I'm headed to a festival tomorrow and spent all day preparing preparing. I have everything I need and I'm gonna love it.

I got to hang out with my best friends who I don't get to see very often. We had a lot of fun and I got LOTS of cuddles from my sleepy zucchini/platonic partner who I hadn't seen in a few weeks.

I hung out with a group of my friends and we just laughed and talked together in a park on the hills until 1 in the morning. We were so crazy and we just ran around wasting our energy together. Then we sat together and watched the lights on the city below us. It felt incredibly free and liberating. Everything about that moment was so magical :)

To everybody who is suffering from depression and to everyone who has problems, it gets better I promise you. Cherish all the great memories and hold on to them.

Tomorrow's thanksgiving, but I'm getting together with family today to eat lots of food, then I have a free day to finish homework tomorrow!

Today, it rained and I was able to stay under layers of blankets and become the burrito Ive always wanted to be

Today, I opened my eyes. I was able to walk to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Then, I went into the kitchen and was able to have breakfast; a delicious bowl of cereal with coconut milk. I stepped into the bathroom again and was able to take a hot shower. I toweled off and sat down for a ten minute meditation.

Then i got to turn on my laptop. I began perusing the threads on the Dollars BBs, responded to a few of them, checking on my worldcommunitygrid program, checking my email, etc etc.

I will later take joy in taking a bus to a job I love. I will have my headphones in and tke pleasure in the music I will listen to on the way. I will give 120% at work and help the guests to my store feel welcomed and glad that they stopped by. One person I work with will most likely be going through something, and they will open up to me about it, and I will be able to try to help them through it.

When I get home later tonight, I will get to enjoy a wholesome meal and relax for the rest of the night.

I might get a call from one or two people who are important to me. I will most likely be able to call my mother, or father, or brother, or aunt if its not too late in the evening after I have dinner.

I will have the chance to play around with my ukulele for an hour or so, learn a new song or put together another riff.

I will finally pick up a book I've been getting into and enjoy a few chapters till my eyes get heavy.

I will then turn off the lights and lie down once again in my own bed, in my own apartment, in my own body. My soul will sing me a lullaby until I fall asleep. Then, if the universe will have me, I will open my eyes again.

I found a praying mantis while out today. They aren't supposed to be around my area of town, especially this time of year, but yet, there it was, just strolling across the sidewalk. I bent down to look at it, and it started crawling towards me, I couldn't resist smiling at the little fellow.

Today I did something I wanted to do. It was fun.

This happened a while ago, but I think if I talk here it might encourage others to do the same.
Last year I had made some cupcake for the boy that I like, and I was going to take it to school, at the bus stop there was an old girl, she was a little dirty with grime and cried a lot. After some internal conflicts (Those we always have whenever we want to help someone, because of the shame.) I asked what had happened. She said she could not sell some candy to get money. I only had money for the bus ticket, and the school was a little far, so I asked if she was hungry. She said yes, and I gave her a cupcake and hugged her. Man, it was so soulful. I felt very happy, and I was even happier when the other people on the parade saw it and began to comfort the girl. I think that when we dollars can help someone who is crying as copiously as the girl cried, we must help without thinking twice! <3

Ah, today I took a big test to get into a school! I was really scared at first, but the staff was really nice and when I sat down and opened the test, I realized I knew everything on it! Afterwards, we went to a chocolate shop (to celebrate me facing the fear I had all week about this thing) and noticed a homeless woman. My mom bought extra chocolate after I asked her and I gave the woman the bag and the ten dollars I had on me. She started crying, but it felt really good to do something for someone other than myself!

I sooooo hope i pass my test i like everyone on this site and theyre soooo awesome but now that my test has come i wont be online as much anyway wish me luck! Seeya bye!!!!

My mother is getting better and better after her stem cell transplant! We're hoping she will not have Lymphoma anymore after this! :3

While my day has been bad news after bad news, my friend actually replied to me in less than 10 minutes (usually the replies take days, weeks or even never)

I didn't have a seizure so far this month, YAY!

Today I ate a snack. It was those Ritz crackers... They were pretty good, lol. I'mma get some more. Also I have gone three whole months without a seizure, yay! Just another three and I'll be able to drive again! And because right now I don't have any car expenses whatsoever, I've been able to save a lot of money, Yay!

A new life will be born in a few months from now that is carrying my gene.. Thanks for the blessing I'm excited.

Decided I'd participate in this post, since positivity is always a good thing. My day's been pretty cool, met a few new friends today! Can't wait to hear more about everyone else's day!

Today I realized that the people I made friends with in the first semester are even better friends than I'd originally thought. I also gained a lot of confidence in my calc class and also in my physics class.
