Advice for IB (International Baccalaureate) (4)

I'm 14 years old and entering grade 10 next year. I'll be taking a Pre-IB program at my school, and then in grades 11 and 12, I'm going for the diploma.

I'm already self-studying my subjects for next year just to get a head on things. If there's any current IBers or graduates that can offer up some suggestions for topics to study now that will help me during the actual IB year, I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Just some background- my average last year was 93%, with English and Social Studies being my higher grades and Science and Math being my lower. (PE was my worst subjecf haha) I'm thinking of taking Music HL, English HL, and French HL.

If you did that well, you should be fine.

That's pretty much it.

I would look into which IB/AP courses will transfer to a university for college credit first. Not all the courses will, like calc-based physics 2 will not transfer to most universities.

If you are a decent student, which your GPA indicates you are, you should be fine. Just as long as you put in the effort and work it shouldn't be a problem taking an IB/AP class. I didn't put in any effort when I did and still passed all of them.

You can still take IB courses for yourself, but I would emphasize in looking into what courses transfer towards a 4 year degree.

Thanks Sid, I'll do some digging.
