Japanese Workstyle (9)

hi everyone, it's me again.
today i want to ask, is higher-up people(mostly japanese) didn't care about your reasons if you late?
i mean i'm tried already to not late, my home is so far away from my office and i need about 2 hours to reach my office.
then they said "you should go more earlier", is that mean i'm should wake up at 3 A.M. and go at 4 A.M.?
that means i'm just gonna get about 2 hours of sleep everyday...
i don't know if all japanese people this strict(i hope not all of it), but it's seems unfair when non-japanese people are forbidden to late while the japanese can late as much as they want ._.

It's basic courtesy in Japan to arrive 10-15 minutes before appointed time.
Coupled with usual distrust towards foreigner, I'd say it's not OK.
How many hours do you work anyway?

8 hours per day(9 in total added with 1 hour of lunch break).
actually i'm not working at Japan, but the Japanese company itself open a branch in my country.
kinda weird though, when the Japanese is copying what us Foreigner doing while working(which is forbidden in their homeland), meanwhile they're forcing us to abide their rules.

If most of the workers are Japanese, home culture triumphs.
It's probably already ingrained in their habits and makes it worse if they've been in.. wherever you are for only a few years. Old habits die hard (especially about manners).
And if it's some kind of financing company, bearing with insults from the higher-ups is actually VERY common (weabo knowledge but meh).

lol, thanks for your response but most of the workers are Foreigners, meanwhile the Higher-ups are Japanese. i can say our populations here like 8(Foreign):2(Japanese).
actually it's a some kind of Call Center or IT company? i'm not sure myself, because their fields of work is kinda random. as i'm a Computer Science student and appointed to work on Graphic Design Division.
well, this experience itself, makes me to think twice if i'm going to work in another japanese company again in the future

Also the saying is 「仕事は何より大事」. Basically Japan is a collectivist culture that prioritize functionality in society and jobs are important.
You can see it from all the job transfers that separate families apart (but they still work anyway). For folks from other countries this might be a harsh concept, but it's true.
Glad I researched a bit about job prospects in Japan.

from your reply i learn more about the workstyle of japanese. it's part of my fault too, when i'm too guilleable to believe what the interviewer said about "the work is easy". where in reality, it was 100% different
