I honestly don't know how to help... my apologies. If it is possible, do try to find someone who could care less/has the same religion as you. This honestly one of the reasons why I'm not on good terms with religion sighs. Say, what is your religion anyway?

(internally raging because added another post but forgot to check captcha)

I recommend you go to a website called 7 cups of tea - you're sure to find help there. And if for whatever dumbshit reason your family gets violent, call the authorities immediately. But that should be common sense, right? ...right? (oh, and call me as well so I can slap sense into them ;P)

People need to react to change somehow. Being happy for someone is the same as being rejected by someone. If they have a right to be happy, they have a right to be disapointed as well.

Of course that's not to justify their logic, but justify their human emotions.

It might get worse and I feel sorry for you. But it's better to accept what emotions they have now because this is natural.

I used to be in your shoes. I use to not like this person back in elementary school, but after awhile they kinda grow on me. I hangout with them the whole entire day, and the guy's parent had a heart to heart talk with me. I didn't go into details or anything. They ask me about myself, and one thing lead to another. I muttered to myself, saying 'I would never have the luxury of forgiveness', expecting no one to hear me. But they heard me and told me about this figure name 'Jesus'. And they told me how 'he have died for our sin'. a lot of things were said that day. And That conversation left me to tears and they told me that it was because God have forgiven you. I went back home and told my father about it, but he doesnt like the fact that I want to convert myself into Christianity. My sister tried go stand up for me, but I have to spend the rest of the night watching my sister getting beat down by my grandmother. After that, I told myself that I'm gonna keep on following the family's religion and give them whatever they want from me. I've lost my ways, and after a while, I snap out of it and began to rebel. I was committed to being an Athiest, then after a while I have no sense in following religion anymore so I just say I have none. But if people ask me about the matter, I'd still say I'm an atheist.

Ryuu, I don't know what religion you are, but the church is there for you. When you have a hard time at home because of religious differences, the church will be there for you. Try to find a church in your area that you can go to, to talk to some people and get support.

I don't think it's right of your family to do that in my opinion, but some religions are less tolerant than others unfortunately. Hopefully it's a matter of giving your family some time to come to terms with it, and hopefully after that your relations will be better.

Good luck bud.
