Hey, I'm back again with another friendship problem. It's about the same friend as before, if anyone read my last post.

So recently, my friends and I went on this competition out of town, which meant we had to stay overnight. Naturally, we had to spend a lot of time together. It was then that I realized that one of my closest friends started to call me names. She would say stuff like "You suck" or call me a dumb ass or b*tch whenever I didn't know or got something wrong.

She had never called me those things before we went to the competition. I know she still cares about me to some degree because she comforted me when I got injured. But it just makes me angry and confused when she says those things to me.

I'm not sure if I should just ignore what she's saying or talk to her about it. Talking to her about it might get ugly though since she's not exactly reasonable all of the time.

You know how people get sick of something when you have too much of it? Friends are the same.

just be patient and, dont give fucks in the names she's calling you..

though i hate it when people i know are tolerating wrong things despite being.. well, wrong.

my friend used to bed to unreasonable, but we somehow managed to get to the right track..

She was probably only saying it because she was competitive.

I think you should talk to her about it. If she was really you're friend she wouldn't call you that. If she's not the reasonable type, you're going to have to be REALLY firm when you confront her.

Maybe that's her hidden personality.

There's a couple of options here.
1. She is only saying this stuff because of the compention
2. She is being a dick for no reason
3. She doesn't mean what she is saying and is probably joking around
I have experienced all of those things before so in all honesty it could be any of those situations or it could be something else. I think you should try and talk to her and see why she's saying these things. She may have a good reason or she may not. You don't know until you ask.

She might be having a separate problem that doesn't have anything to do with you, such as family issues. I suggest you sit down with her and try to talk this out. Just act very calm, say you don't appreciate being called names, ask if she is doing alright.

I hate being in sports with my friends. There is always that sickening inevitability that you might get in a fight over something due to competition or jealousy. It's happened to me before. All I can say is to encourage one another; don't play the sport just to win.
